3 years with my dad. Do most people on this board hate me for it? Reading the thread about the giraffe got me thinking about how stupid most people are about hunting. Like do you think deer and duck hunters are the only ones who use the meat? If I happens to get lucky and get to go experience either of these hunts do you think im just gonna take a picture with the bear and then leave it there to rot? A safari hunt does not interest me but I wouldn't blame those who do and they pay extraudinary amounts of money for the experience and nothing goes yo waste yet everyone likes to act like they are out there killing indiscriminately endangered animals and leaving the carcass. Why don't people do research before becoming outraged. I would love to go on a north American big game hunt. Does that make me a bad person?

Don't care if you kill a moose, but why kill a black, grizzly or brown bear. I'm a hunter too, but never saw the thrill of killing a bear?

I work with a non-profit that guides veterans on free bear and moose hunts in Maine. I can honestly say that most guides/hunters are huge advocates for the responsible control of an animal population. Many big game animals require population control, to include bear, moose and deer. Hunting and the laws that govern it are effective and are backed by many wildlife management biologists.

So Giraffe are either endangered, or on the cusp of being endangered, are moose, or the bear you are allowed to hunt?

Do you not see the clear distinction?

Nothing that is at risk for being killed off from this earth should be hunted to extinction, except dumbasses like you I guess. Oh burn

But that giraffe needed to be killed. Do you seriously not think conservationist don't keep up with wjat animals are endangered and to the point they shouldn't be hunted at all and which ones need to be culled for the betterment of the herd?

This is a good point, no animal that is endangered or on the verge of being so should be hunted. Hence the whole "population control" idea. Your final few sentences, however, are the words of a true frickhead. Seriously, calm down sally.

it isn't always about the thrill. I have no use for a grizzly but I would love to kill a black bear just for the meat. I've heard it's great. I like watching them and would probably feel some sadness doing it but hell, i like killing my food.
