My sister is traveling across the state for 7 year old Coach pitch baseball. Seems a bit excessive to me.
my daughter got suckered into helping coach a 4 year old t-ball team, with optional coach pitch, that has practices for 2 months before embarking on a 12 week schedule of spine tingling, edge of the seat gripping, action packed games

My son plays club soccer. He loves it and I love watching him play. My daughter is in gymnastics. She loves it and I love watching her compete. They learn a lot and I’m realistic when it comes to their pro potential (it’s unlikely). But I’ll never look back at any of it and wish we hadn’t done it. I enjoy watching my kids learn and grow.

Some parents prefer to take their kids camping, hunting, fishing, etc instead of traveling all over God’s green earth to live vicariously through their 6 year old’s baseball career.

So instead of sitting inside all day playing Fortnite, he is outside with 11 other boys working together as a team. Seems like a good investment of time to me.

wrong, it's like the whole family sacrifices the entire summer for one family member
how you figure? most teams are done by mid june and why you say only 1 kid plays?
but yea we starting this weekend, gonna be a cold one. between the 2 in travel baseball and track....gonna be a marathon but its what makes them happy so makes me happy.
but OT will be here to tell me how stupid it is for kids to play organized sports on a board dedicated to sports....all coming from the same people that scream about kids need to get outside and play more

Yeah but the kids are binging fortnight on the 8 hour drive to play 4 hours worth of baseball.

My twin stepsons Braydyn and Braxxtyn switched to a new team. The previous coach was a dumbass.

and thats fine...some parents do both...so parents dont like those things and some kids dont like those things
why does it have to be one or the other? and why are those things better than allowing a kid to play the sport he loves
and why is it

live vicariously through their 6 year old’s baseball career.
this?? why cant a kid just really like baseball or some other sport and want to be the best at it?
if you support the kid in doing what they love is it vicariously living through the kid?
what if you force your kid to camp, hunt and fish but they hate it...is that living through the kid?
just trying to figure out where the line is with the OT?
also realize that 99% of parents with kids playing travel baseball....they dont think their kid is going pro. just their kid loves the game and wants to play in HS and pretty much only way is through travel
When i take my kid hunting or fishing...i dont suddenly think they are going to go pro in that and end up the next bill dance
and let me ask a question....are you sure the reason you like bringing them to do those things for them....or is it an excuse for you to drink? because many times on the OT it really boils down to being able to drink at the camp.

We played last weekend and let me tell you these girls showed up and showed out! Despite getting screwed by the umps in pool play TWICE and gettin last place in pool play. First time my Paisleigh Kate has EVER been in last placed in pool play since she was in 4U! She was so embarrassed!! But let me tell you it lit a fire in her tail and as well as the other girls too. Coach Chad had them be at the park at 4:45am for batting practice and we was ALL ok with it!! And the proof was in the results. We come out there a whipped that #1 seed (want say there name cause they all cheat) but I'm sure yall can figure it out LMBO!! But we sent them packing and won the next 2 and made it all the way to the championship game at midnight. Unfortunately we got the SAME umps as we had in pool play and it didn't work out way but man I'm so proud of these girls and the way they fought!! When the cops was pullin Coach Chad off the field he told them how proud he was of them and two not let those umps ruin there love for the game and let me tell you it didn't. My PK is more determined then EVER! Can't wait for Dallas's next weekend!
This is great, up there with Shakespeares finest work.

what?
dude in LA nobody is traveling very far at all. max 2 hours except once or twice a year.
most teams play within 60 miles of home for 90%+ tournaments.
sure there are a few national teams in each age group that fly all over but those are very rare. even a team like wildcatters or banditos will play 90% of tournaments within an hour drive.
