While I agree with you on the expensive aspect, how is it a “problem” when travel ball is optional? There is nothing wrong with kids that play only rec ball.
The cost makes high-level baseball into a very exclusive sport at a young age which has the effect of fewer and fewer lower income kids playing baseball.
Some people see that as a bad thing.

How this is such a difficult concept for some of you is fascinating
yet you fail to lay it out.
go ahead and lay it out for everyone!!

I would put both my book smarts, iq, and certainly street smarts against anyone but especially yours
You consistently struggle with spelling, grammar, and certainly homophones

so before you run your mouth and call people dumb...realize you may not see the whole picture because you dont have the experience in these things on both sides like some do.
That has nothing to do with you being a dumbass

Objectively false.
You’ve clearly never seen The Sandlot and should be ashamed of yourself.
that was set almost 75 years ago and i have seen it over 100 times. thats like saying cars arent expensive because they were cheaper in the 1950s
once baseball became organized with LL and hell even the league team in the sandlot...it became more and more expensive.
in the 90s bats were 100-200 and gloves in the 100 range. now they are 300 for bats and 200+ for gloves...at least the good ones. you can still find cheaper bats and gloves on close out though for cheaper than it was in the 90s.

He loves baseball but I’m hoping he doesn’t outgrow it. It is crazy how tall he is at this age. When you do those height predictor charts with my height and my wife’s height plus his current age and height it shows like 6’-8 to 6’-10”. He plays basketball and made the parish biddy league in that but he’s all baseball mentally at the moment. I have 2 more boys right behind him growing like this too

you know you run your mouth pretty good on here for being 150lbs midget.
but instead of running your mouth...explain everything for us "dumbasses"
help us understand since you are so smart.....yet you have zero experience in any of it. but you know all the problems.

He can only repeat what he heard other people say
He’s clearly not that bright

Having family who care about them and actual stuff to do at home leads to fewer higher income kids spending hours every day playing street basketball.
Some people see this as a bad thing.

Where I’m from, you must play rec ball in order to even be on the “all-star” team. Other places may differ. While I do see the point you’re trying to make…that’s just life man. As a kid, I doubt my parents could have afforded to keep up with it regardless of if I wanted to play or not.

no man...we are all wrong...all of us in it, dont have a clue.
didnt you hear...travel ball kids only play baseball, nothing else. and they play year around and nobody can take vacations...all they do is school and ball....nothing else
and didnt you know....travel ball involves traveling all over the country. no teams in south louisiana can escape it and we all play 100+ games
and it cost 15-20k per year bro...didnt you know?
clearly we are all not very bright and he is the all knowing being despite never having a kid in any sport what so ever.

I typically wouldn’t but you puff your chest out about how smart you are. Proofreading has nothing to do with knowing the difference between there/their or knowing where a money sign goes

I never said any of this

I'm too old to have done that but I have a son who spent a boatload on travel ball.
It seemed like he was buying a new expensive bat or equipment every couple of months and the gasoline and hotel bills was eating his lunch.

A bunch of affairs at hotels across the gulf coast
A bunch of money wasted on mediocre talent kids.

you mentioned rec...i never heard you mention you coached travel
but again lay out how we are all stupid please.....you seem so convinced we are all wrong
and again if that is the case...why cant you just take you kid to play rec and stfu and you can laugh at us at HS tryouts when he is the best and you didnt have to pay for travel until 13.
im quite certain you will have zero problems making a bad arse 13u team that will prepare him for HS ball since you are so convinced your way is best.
and if your way is so much better...then how come every kid drafted in the last 5 years played travel?
if your way is so good then how come every kid on LSU's roster played...hell every kid on McNeese roster played and hell even every kid on LSU-E and Southern played.
