Recently heard the "Looking for motivated individuals IN THE LAFAYETTE AREA" house flipping commercial.

ADT rep (in a convertible Corvette mind you) came asking who I used for home monitoring and if I "knew anyone who needed a security system" today.

I'm just praying to sweet baby Jesus the vivint crew rolls by...I have a special hatred for them.

Its amazing how any of these scams/predatory companies still exist today with the info exchange we have.

I travel for work a lot and I hear these commercials on the radio everywhere. Star of A&E's hit series Flip This House or whatever.

"Looking for motivated individuals in the *cut* AREA AREA" you can hear the audio slightly change its pitch when they insert the geography in

I love that the sheeple don't have common sense. If he is making so much money flipping houses why would he teach you never occurs to anyone??

Lot of arguments against this, but this one kinda silly.

People teach others how to make lots of money all the time. Heck they even do it at colleges all across America.

It’s not like home tv guy can flip every house himself.

How’s your knife situation at home? I got some Cutcos I need to offload. You ever felt the thrill of cutting through a penny?

Did the yankee bastard pronounce it “LAF-EYE-ET” like they say “NEW OAR-LEANS” in our local one?

Had a new one at the gas station yesterday.

Guy wanted to pay me $10 to help him jump his car off. Told him I’d be over there after I finished filling up but just left instead. Figured he was just trying to get me out of my truck while it was running so someone else in on the scam could hop in quickly and take off with my truck.

Or maybe he just really needed a jump?

I’ll let you find out. He wasn’t the most trustworthy looking guy I’ve seen. And he walked all the way over from one side of the pump area to me on the other end passing up 5-6 other people in between not asking anyone of them for help. Was just odd feeling

I had a telemarketer call me yesterday afternoon to tell me that her company wants to "pay me cash for my house"! Obviously I'm interested, so I ask, "How much?"

TM, "We'll we have to ask you some questions first, so...:

Me, "You don't understand how this works do you? "

TM, "Uh,..."

Me, "Tell your people that of they want to make me an offer, they need to be prepared to offer when you call again. "

I had a similar experience recently. I was tired of those “Extended Car Warranty” people calling so I actually answered.

TM: “Hello, we’ve been trying to reach you about your cars warranty expiring.”

Me: “okay. When does it expire?”

TM: “what is the make, model and year of your car?”

Me: “You tell me. You’re the one who called me in regards to it expiring.”

I will tell anyone who will listen.. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH ADT.

Because if you ever try to cancel, they'll go "You owe us $700".
