Looking out my office window... it's dark like 10 pm outside.

Crazy.

Why is it always darkest when the boundary comes in, then it lightens up when the rain starts...?

I'm uptown looking out my lab, and saw the same, now it's much lighter with the rain.

Yea that would make no sense considering the cornerstone of the town is the courthouse...

I agree that also sucks

gretna had a $2 ferry ride to the cultural epicenter of the south, and could still live in their comfy, safe suburb... and it shut down because no one used it. think about that for a second

imagine you could live in the safest suburb of connecticut and have a $2, 10minute public transit to anywhere in NYC, and people didn't use it because they'd prefer going to the "all of garden" in Stamford over eating pasta in little italy

I mean c'mon lol

A few years ago, they built what looks like a big condo building right in that area, and I wonder if those places are pretty nice.

my buddy lives in this place. EXTREMELY nice, I gotta admit

plus he walks down to rivershack and flirts with the bartenders there.

you wouldn't believe what people pay to live in that place, though

I know some people that work in the city government there and really it's just one of those towns where the old people don't like the way their little town is changing. at one point I saw they did a study and Gretna, LA was the single most statistically likely town for a black male to get arrested in in the entire country lmao.

also look at these condo prices, good fricking lord.

LINK

$724k for around 1000 sq ft. $700/sq ft+

insanity

really? Does he rent or own? Are these like 500k condos?

see the link in my post above

I'm certain it's not allowed in their HOA to rent those out, you basically have to buy a unit to live there

the guy I know who lives there is a childless single dude in his early 40's, he's a lawyer with a stupid amount of disposable income

for 200k less you could live in these condos and walk to the AP ferry, plus an extra 500+ square feet, and the point in general is just 10,000 cooler than gretna. LINK
