It's pretty normal for September to be pretty dry in Louisiana. The rain comes back once the fronts start rolling through.

The main BR ob site finished September with 0.86" of rain. Normal for that gauge for the month is 4.42". Year to date BR is now 9.01" below normal. Last year it was 26.17" above normal at the same site through September.

It could be worse, if we were to follow the Drought Monitor.

If y'all start a go fund me in my name, and it gets a decent amount of cash in it, I'll go out in the driveway and wash my truck.

It'll rain the next day.

The lower Mississippi River Basin is dry, and barges are running aground despite the number of barges per tow being reduced.

And, horror of horrors Viking Cruise lines had to depart a crusie from Baton Rouge in stead of NOLA, and then the ship barely made it to Vicksburg before the cruise was cancelled, passengers sent home with full refunds. LINK

The river has been looking greenish or clearer lately even around Baton Rouge I . I’d imagine further south it’s even cleaner. Idk much about the river but I’m sure the lack of rain helps the river clarity

Yeah, I was just pointing out that September finished low even by its standards.

With the drainage issues in BR, I'd never want it to rain again if I were you.

Side note, did the Basin Bridge trip today. Don't know if I've ever seen the square bases on the support beams before. It's super low. Saw a few gator tail trails through the mud flats though. Bet they have some flat bill tiktoks out there.
