Correct. There are many forms of retail.

Fwd this to patients at MDA and parents of children at St Jude. I'm sure they will sympathize with you.

Just like shopping retail, I jave a choice. If I feel like a doctor doesnt give ne the time I need, I choose another doctor.

Correct. The issue in the healthcare field is that the overwhelming majority of the physicians forget about this or don't take it to heart. So your options are limited with those that provide a customer-focused experience.

Interestingly, Urgent Care clinics have been improving their customer experience significantly...mainly because they have competition and don't need a relationship with the patient to establish trust.

Lol at you comparing physicians to Target. They don't give a shot because their product is always in demand. The two aren't even close to comparable.

I agree. It can be hard to find a doctor that, not only cares, but isnt always overbooked/understaffed so s/he can spend a lot of time with you.

Physicians, despite being in retail, don't understand the customer.

That's because the demand, even for crappy doctors, will always be there.

I'm not looking for sympathy. I'm looking for better logistics. I did not change doctors. My medical records transfer to his new offices, yes? It sounds like the medical software is not compatible from one group to another.

"Sounds like he joined a different group. In that case everyone would be a new patient.

That's not his rules."

This^^^^^
One of the frustrating things for me is the stupid coding rules that we have to follow that affect "Customer Service" that Customers/Patients don't understand and put more barriers between doctor and patient and lead to more frustration with our profession. Need to drain the swamp and take all the middle people out - would be so much cheaper and transparent for everyone

Your ENT probably went in with another physician's group and/or another computer system when he/she moved and rather than inefficiently transferring all previously held patient information into their new set up, they are going to go the smarter, more efficient route of spreading out that work load by only entering in still active patients on their first appointment subsequent to the change.

Why wouldn't they do that rather than transferring massive amounts of information on people that might never again walk through the door?

Think before you bitch.

Was not an appointment per se. Just a quick in-and-out to get a shot. You call ahead, they have your serum ready, and get shot up. 2 minutes...tops.

You're omitting the minimum 30 minute post-injection to make sure you don't die from all the allergens being injected into your body. So more like 35 - 40 minutes IRL.

So you believe the medical industry is the only industry in which different entities use different kinds of software from one to the other?

Really?

Yes there are, and doctor offices aren't retail. You could maybe say dental, but probably not. Urgent Care would be the most comparable to retail but again, is not considered to be actual retail.

Of course I know there are different software systems in medicine. I've been in IT for umpteen years. But if systems are scalable, they should be able to accept data from other systems. I just installed a system where we imported financial data from a completely different system. You're better than this, Scoop.

Only when your serum protocol changes do you have to wait for a 20 minute time frame post injection. This was not one of those times.

Ya but the doctor didn't get a new system, he joined a different group. Your rant has little to no substance at all.

Why would I not be listed as an 'active' patient? I've been treated multiple times THIS year and continue to receive allergy shots when sinus infections have cleared up. I am the walking definition of an active patient.

Scoop, you're off your game today. Go home before you end up killing somebody...unless it's Sabidojo.
