Once a state of emergency is declared that gives "legal authority" to enforce a curfew even though it's complete bullshite

I don't know the answer to that, but I know it happens all the time. I remember being in New Orleans after Gustav and having to be back in the car because of a midnight curfew.

We had one after a hurricane once. Or maybe it was ice storm. I questioned what legal authority we had on enforcing it and I don't remember if I ever got and answer
