I think it's just an acknowledgement by the average white woman that they're all capable of losing their shite at any moment. I remember reading the statistics a few years ago. Basically, 20% of all white women are on some mood disorder drug.
Frankly, I find that number to be low.

I don't remember any rallies for Andrea Yates or Dena Schlosser.

Posted this in the wrong thread but genuinely curious about it:
I’ve had a thought recently about the case. A lot of women seem to be condoning her behavior because of the PPD argument.
The thought I’ve had is would they feel the same way if the kids weren’t hers? Let’s say her husband had her kids with him, but a female neighbor asked her to watch her kids for an hour while she ran out, and she killed them instead. Would all of these women supporting her feel the same way about the whole thing. I highly doubt it. It wouldn’t change a thing about the PPD argument. This whole situation is just showing me that some women believe there is some validation that they are allowed to murder their own children.

You're asking the wrong question
the question would be if the husband had PTSD and then killed the kids
Of course they wouldn't. They'd want him fried

Yeah of course they would want a man to face a firing squad, but happening to another womans kids- would it change their tune? I think it likely would.

You really don't even need to do what ifs on this
Patrick is having every decision he made picked apart by people calling him a cheater, bad father and murderer. With really no evidence. I can't know how he was day to day with the kids but at mimium someone who is in sales at microsoft that can afford a house in Mass provides a pretty privelleged existance.
They want to talk about PPD truama while ignoring what he went thru being married to someone with PPD. Then of course the obvious someone who walked into what he walked into the day of. Then the judge him for going to the beach
I saw the "he did it" crowd questioning why he set in the car answering emails at CVS. Without even thinking the obvious, that 12 minutes alone in a parking lot is the closest he had been to peace in awhile.
The sympathy with these people is one way street. They invalidate their entire argument because they not only ignore what he went thru but question/accuse him.
i hate that i got myself interested in this bull shite.

I think it's probably that most women who have had children understand the perils of postpartum depression in a way men will never be able to.
Does that mean consequences go unpunished? No. But this has more to do with society not talking about postpartum enough. I understand people are aware of it, but I've seen it absolutely destroy people. Women should be given more grace and support.
And boy by the way some of yall talk about yalls wives and girlfriends I do not expect this position to be a popular one.
I agree with you. On the other hand,

he took 12 fricking weeks of paternity leave, switched to work from home, moved HER PARENTS IN, hired a Nanny 3 days a week, got her to numerous psyches, and then even took over parenting full time when she had herself committed for weeks
Not sure what more this woman could have asked for for help.

quote:Exactly. Yet another example amongst the thousands of what modern women will stoop to in order to avoid taking personal accountability. It's so fricking tiresome.
It's baffling to me. All of a sudden we have a bunch of feminists acting like their hormones are in complete control of them and they can't do anything about it.
