Robert Cade had to force UF football players and coaches to drink Gatorade it tasted so bad. Only when they saw the benefits did they accept it. With out all the sugars and flavorings it would only be a medicine that only dehydrated players were forced to take.

But muh private company.
You have options to buy natural healthier stuff since there are competing companies. Your daddy government allows and disallows certain ingredients. Do you think we would be healthier if our government controlled our food supply?

This is an example of how effete and lame so much of the right can be. “Freedom” isn’t letting corporations put shite in our food just because they can make a buck off of it.” The government telling corporations they can’t do that isn’t “the government controlling the food supple”.

They are now required to list more on the labels than back then. This is fake news

Daddy FDA already allows the shite you’re complaining about. He’s talking about private companies, so the opposite would be government control of the food supply. Keep up, man, this is pretty simple stuff.

The problem is a retarded population.
We choose the kind of products we want with our dollar vote. We vote for fake, cheap shite.

I do remember hearing that when there was the big pushback against tobacco, the mfers started buying food companies. Started putting addictive shite in the foods that were never there before. fricking scumbags, pure evil.
ETA- phillip morris bought general foods in 85, Kraft in 88, nabisco in 2000.
For many billions.

Actually it's a lot like that.

Do you think it would be better or worse without an FDA?
Or are you arguing the FDA needs more teeth and regulations?
What is your position?

The FDA should do their job and not pick winners and losers. That is not a regulatory agency. Just like the rest of the government, they’re bought and paid for.

Yup.

I think there should be regulations on clearly labeling what is in the food and I think you should be able to make a choice what you want to eat. People think if the government approves it, it must be fine for me to eat. That couldn’t be further from the truth.
There is some extreme corruption that has gone on in the FDA with regards to drugs especially, but food as well. Making the agency bigger with more power would make them even more corrupt.

This. We don’t need more government controls. We simply need the FDA to enforce the proper labeling of food (which it seems to be doing as far as I can tell), and we need educated consumers who vote with their dollars.

To idiots, it is. It gives us a dystopian dysgenic society. Congrats.

Yeah, but none of the things in the OP are real food.
If you buy processed food, you are at the mercy of whatever ingredients are cheapest.
Just eat real food.
