It sucks to live in a city losing its battle with criminals

After a shooting and murder at a children’s dance recital at the Saenger Theater in Mobile and multiple gang style shootings and shoot outs all over every park in Mobile, it’s apparently legal for every criminal to carry now and cops are saying there is nothing to do about it unless they are a convicted felon so they quit doing roadblocks etc.
Maybe it would be better to have some easy online 5 dollar or less registration just for conceal carry and a card. I would rather have something I can have in my wallet so I can use it to travel to other states that have reciprocity anyway. I realize it’s a slippery slope and the NRA will oppose this but even in pro gun Alabama it freaks people out if I walk into a nice restaurant with a gun on my belt etc. As a result must non criminals aren't always armed, and many people end up leaving guns in cars etc.
The “thugs” would never do this so then cops can go back to the stop and frisk and road blocks in high crime areas.
AFTER FURTHER THOUGHT THIS IS NOT WORTH IT, JUST A BAD IDEA AND I WITHDRAW IT. MOBILE IS A LOST CAUSE.
We also need to make sure possession of a stolen firearm is a felony with enhanced penalties etc and prosecutors do their jobs and prosecute them.

They already are......protect yourself, cops won't.

You realize thugs that are shooting each other will have guns on them regardless of what the law is, right?

The problem with open carry is all the thugs legally can be armed

Certainly. There is no way those thugs would carry without that $5 online card.

You are confusing open carry with concealed carry.
Open carry is on an exterior holster like a cowboy holster.

LINKWe are about at private security level now. I am going back to range this week. If you are looking for a pistol for self protection I highly recommend the Kel-Tec PMR. It’s 25 rounds, light accurate, rarely jams and with trigger laser it’s awesome. (But it’s not 350 anymore) 22 mag is way better round than 9 mm anyway and I have a few of each.

While Mobile isn’t Jaxxson or NOLA or BR, it’s still pretty risky.
All that being said, move to Winterset, Iowa.
You’ll have to work hard at being unlucky to be murdered there.

It is and almost NEVER enforced, two people that were later caught with guns stolen from me never served a day in jail
Open carry isn’t the problem, the problem is the LBJ effect

Many of these reported thugs cannot legally own or carry a firearm, yet they still do.

That's how you get thugs off the street, but it's usually the first charge bargained away.
Jail them for being in possession, watch crime go down.
The NRA has advocated for this in the past.

You are right, I am mixing open carry and conceal carry. I have both but I really dislike the pistols that fit in my conceal carry hoster.
I do not want to be banned but I do want to say when the minorities do a big parade with ARs so many attitudes seem to suddenly change.
And if u think the thugs in mobile are going to go online and pay for a permit u are brainwashed.
