Should cool off around Thanksgiving. Maybe slight warmup after that. But mid December the pattern looks to flip to a colder pattern.

You want to talk about shitty weather.. Central & Western Oklahoma's hot as balls in the summer (though not near as humid as the coastal SEC country) and we always get that stretch in August / Sept. where it can get over 100 degrees for two weeks straight thanks to a heat dome.

Fall weather may last 3 weeks if we're lucky. By 'fall' I mean 60 - 75 degree weather. Winters here are just awful and depressing, we get occasional snow but otherwise cold and windy as shite with the occasional sub-zero artic blast. And ice storms, can't forget the ice storms. Spring weather lasts a month but wind chill makes a 60 degree day feel like 40 degrees. Tornadoes peak during the transition from spring to summer.

My main requirement for choosing where we live when I retire: mild weather, all 4 seasons, NOT retardo-windy.

Hopefully this is getting that annual gay arse late December spring weather out of the way. (Spoiler: it’ll be 80 on Christmas Day.)

I lived in Houston before I lived in NOLA.
In Houston I learned to count fall weather by days rather than by weeks and months were unheard of and unimagined.

There was one small maple tree on a fence line near our office that turned a lovely and appropriate shade of red the first week of December every year. That was it for fall color.

Currently 90° in the west side of Houston. Driving on Briar Forest my car registered 92° several times near the bayou (lowest spots)…

In the summer time, it stays hot, but we never get a cool front to bring down the temperatures.

In the winter time, it stays warm and we sporadically get cold fronts to bring down the temperature.

Such is life in south Louisiana.
