My point is.. you take gov money then you simply don’t get to throw out “private business” as in not being subject to certain legislative regulations..

Which was there point.. my point with government is always “ buyer beware”

Hear the spirit but first thought it is over played. If doctors are in midst of dealing with major contagion (Ebola), put medical decisions in medical professionals’ hands.

Hippocratic oath should not be politicized.

My mom pretty much died alone. Was in the hospital for two weeks and couldn’t see her. We talked them into letting her come home with Hospice and she died the next day.

And then I read this and feel heart wrenching. So sorry for your family.

No, this decision is far better left to politicians who have zero expertise in the matter.

what happens when after 5 minutes we realize it’s not Ebola, and can narrow the threat to a very precise, very specific segment of the population, but still keep acting like it’s Ebola?

other that treating it like Ebola, what’s hyperbole? I saw plenty of AdCoucil funded spots telling me to wash my hands. I saw 0 AdCouncil spots encouraging people to not be fat

I guess you should write the ad council then. Not really what the thread is about though.

I wasn’t responding to “the thread”. I was responding to one poster making the asinine claim that the public shouldn’t influence public choices

because if we’ve learned anything in the last 24 months, it’s that medical professional opinions are unassailable

Paraphrasing

Behave to the risk, Ebola and not Ebola. Medical professionals decisions, not politicians.

I don’t go to a politician to fix my transmission in my car either.

They did it themselves towing the line that the COVID restrictions worked

Even though that was proven a lie

They should make no decisions again

In fact they should be charged and thrown in prison

Imagine going to a doctor that thinks masks work, you should stand six feet away, and lockdowns will solve it in two weeks. They arent mentally sane enough to practice.

Be sure and tell your doctor that next visit. He'll get a kick out of it.

Sweeping statements like “proven wrong” or “proven right” don’t help either. Too many playing to win a political game; rather, instead of collectively beating the contagion. A sweeping law to win a political game is gonna cost us when faced with an Ebola type of contagion.

Medical professionals for medical problems please.

Allowing an unlimited amount of family members into an ICU room equals disaster. Usually people falling out on the ground with a ventilator and dialysis hooked up. Now 3 people at a time during visiting hours, sure.

There is an argument to be made that the world’s attempt to stem covid was the worst public policy decision since the First World War.

Now we know it didn’t do Jack shite

And yes, health experts are mainly to blame. Unlike working class people, they weren’t harmed financially at all during covid

Yeah, it's so much worse than the ongoing failure of the drug war and various meddlings in the middle east. You people are goddamn lunatics.
