It is impossible to compare Covid 19 to prior Pandemics or even the seasonal flu

As to case count, we have never chased asymptomatic positives. If we had done as many tests in sny other year, especially in 1968 or 1958, what would those case counts be?

As to deaths, they did not usually test folks in nursing homes or otherwise infirmed who passed due to other morbidities. Who knows how many may have had the flu or something else that complicated the comorbidity.?

It makes everything look worse

We all screamed for more testing.

It doesn't make the mortality rate worse.

It could make the mortality rate worse for prior pandemics or flu seasons if every death were tested.

This is revisionist history.

The major talking point in the beginning was as soon as we started testing more the mortality rate was going to plummet and it did.

Then the government moved the goalposts.

We'll have movies about this one.

George Clooney will play Cuomo.

Could you imagine getting sick and not being able to taste bacon. How F***** up is that. Stay da fool away from me. Taste senses are a requirement for me to be happy. This disease is easily worse than any flu for that reason.

Where have I ever said it was not worse. I said the number comparisons are not valid. I am not certain what the same testing would have shown but no one else could be either.

All they had to do was threaten everyone with permanent taste loss and people would have stayed in and this thing would have been over in April. But noooo we have morons at all level of the govt. The only one that wasn't a moron was my friend's dad who was a post master, but he has since retired so now they are back to all being dumb.

You do realize that more tests allow people with positive results to notify those they have been in direct contact with?

That allows them to stop the spreading and self quarantine until they get their test results. That is how you slow the spread.

People love to blame the left or blame the right. This should be a bi partisan issue to slow the spread so we can all return to bitching about something else.

Why? Hospitals aren't at capacity anymore. We flattened the curve and all that jazz.

You aren't foolish enough to believe we can actually stop this virus from spreading are you?
