While you are right about case counts, you would not be correct about deaths and hospitalizations. These can be fairly compared.

that's the point.
fear. panic.
if we tested droves of healthy people year round for every ailment and then 24/7 screamed about it on the news...
...this fear and control could be used and taken any time they want.
and we just frickin gave it to them.
turn off the news, have a different (D) president in office and this gets poo-poo'd away with some common sense.

It's hard to compare the response for sure.

And this is why the left screamed for more testing
It makes everything look worse
If you have only a marginal understanding of statistics

And once you’ve got a reasonable mortality rate for the flu in a few populations, you could reverse engineer the case count from a larger populations death total for instance.
The data’s never 100% clean but you can go a pretty long way with it if you understand how to work with what’s available (ie what professionals have not what we get at noon and pretend to analyze)

The virus is past the point of containment because we had an administration that didn’t act appropriately when the containment period was able to be contained.
Maybe that is wishful thinking with any administration in this day in age.
Hospitalizations have gone down but a reason being is younger people have made up for a larger amount of positive tests recently. They can withstand getting Covid as opposed to older people with or without medical conditions due to their body being better equipped to fight the virus.
Curve was flattened for a short time. Spiked not too long after everything reopened. Probably due to everyone going stir crazy. I don’t blame them. We have to go on with our lives, but people have to be smart (tough thing to ask nowadays with so much disinformation)
