Yet another reason to move out of this awful state.

I’ll pay for your gasoline. If we can get you to take the rest of the pussies with you we can start making progress.

Summer of 1980 would like a word. That was fckng miserable.

1980 was the first thing I started thinking when I read the headline of this thread. I remember being 12 years old discing ground trying to break up plowed ground running an open station tractor "no cab and AC" and it being 105 degrees. That was a hot dry summer.

Here is 1980s temps for the year

One single day of 100, and check out the low each night ….much better than what we have now

Even if we use that as the benchmark, it’s okay for people to bitch out it being the hottest summer in over 40 years.

So keep in mind for a decent percentage of the OT, this is the hottest summer they have ever experienced.

False, and very easily disproved.

I don’t believe in climate change or global warming or any of that, but I’m 42 and I just don’t think it was this hot when I was growing up. It was hot, but I remember playing outside all day. I remember not having AC in school til 3rd grade. Some older folks when I was growing up would just use fans and wouldn’t run the AC. This heat I just feels different, I don’t know if the government is doing this or what.

I'm ready for the highs to be back in the mid 60's

We had 17 days over 100 in 1980.

The more concrete and black top houses we put down, the more roads, parking lots etc that replace the grass....the hotter it will get.

Because of reasons…

I’ll stick with the 99% of scientists that actually study it instead but that’s me.

No. This summer is hotter. But next summer may be milder than usual. Either way, the world isn't ending.

I’m back in Peoria, IL on business again and it feels like fall up here. It was warm earlier. But when I went out to grab some dinner, it felt just like fall to me. I just checked my Weather Channel app and it says it’s 75 degrees outside, but it feels downright crisp. Makes me ready for football season.
