I don’t think anyone wants innocent civilians to be killed, but what does “restraint” mean in this statement? We can’t ask Israel not to respond with lethal force. We can’t ask them not to invade Gaza. They have the right to seek justice and eliminate the threat to them. We certainly should not stand in the way of that. We’ve been in that position before, and we responded with a massive use of force (as we should have).

“Restraint” = “Let the Palestinians get away with barbarity against Israel”.

Israel ain’t having it.

They aren’t making that clear, but they have activated around 350,000 reserve troops and are hitting observer posts and launch areas.

Idea seems to be to cut off as much of their military supplies as possible AND be ready for Hezbollah in the north before they start.

Makes sense. Essentially do a siege of Gaza before going in and wiping Hamas out. I’m sure they don’t want to rush things too much and risk a miscalculation.

I am wondering if the baby beheading thing is true. Not because I put it past these savages, its believable. But because this is the kind of thing that usually comes out in the fog of war to sway sentiment.

Hopefully it’s not true.

Sad thing, is it’s hard to tell, because of the amount of propaganda both sides will put out to sway opinion.

The more info that comes out about killings makes me think some percentage is fake, because it lengthens the time Hamas was running around killing peoples before any kind of resistance was raised.

How could you possibly think it isn’t? Did you not learn anything since 9/11?

This is true, but I think people are talking about a couple of days, not weeks, when referring to the time Israel has.

What people need to understand that take Gaza will likely take months of combat.

Yep. I meant days, not weeks, in terms of kicking it off - not duration.

It will be a meat grinder. They need to go slow and use their supporting arms every time they run into opposition. Otherwise they will run through battalions like frat boys through a cases of beer.

Yep. Another reason they can't just go in half-cocked in order to ride the wave of public opinion.

There is enough video from day one to judge Hamas on this one.

this round will be no different than the last 50 years of Hamas brutality, shock, Israeli response, orchestrated Palistinan world wide demonstrations, clean up by Israel of known problems and then demands by world leaders for Israel to stand down. Netanyahu has already been told by US and Europe he has 2-3 days to complete his work.
Even fictional movies and novels have been written about this process.

Breaking the cycle can only be broken by a targeted worldwide manhunt for the leaders and participants of the murders of 260 peace activists and of the baby beheaders. Relocating the town of Gaza, only moves the problem

This. If it took videos of babies being beheaded for your outrage to start, then you’re either clueless as to what started this or don’t really care about all of the other civilians being murdered. It was both a terrorist attack and an act of war.

It’s time to cleanse. Give civilians of Gaza a warning to either leave, point out where the bad guys are, or consider yourself complicit.

Relocating them the frick off Israel’s border sure makes it easier to control their ability to do this kind of thing.

Anyone who thinks the IDF is going to waltz in doing door to door raids without incurring significant losses is crazy.

I would go slow, taking it block by block in a controlled manner. At the minimum you run into resistance you drop some 40mm if not 30mm auto cannon. Anything more entrenched hit with LAWs or bring up the tanks and put a 120mm smooth bore up the camel jockey asses. But the will take months to systematically exterminate Hamas.

There’s already video of Hamas drones dropping small bombs on Israeli tanks. I’d bet Iran has supplied them with enough drones and explosives to make life miserable for the IDF.

How much do you want to bet we see the first Anti-Drone counter measures being employed. It will be interesting watch the Israeli Tech Industry as they bring them on-line.

Hamas won't stay there and be annihilated. They will just hop the border and leave enough to bog down the IDF until world opinion pushes them to stop.

Yep, there are enough videos showing shite that would make any human boil with anger, without needing dead babies to trigger rage.

Young women at a Peace Festival with hands up crying, executed on the spot. Many not Israeli.

The Palestinian people aren't modern enough to support.

“World opinion” is already trying to stop there from being an operation to begin with.

The amount of fricks Israel likely gives about “world opinion” right now is negative.

Considering that the local IDF base was caught with their proverbial pants around their ankles there was no QRF available locally….factor in the fact Israel has no 2nd Amendment & very restrictive gun laws (crazy but true) and there was no one to check the attack.

Any idea when Israel is expected to actually begin its ground assault/invasion into Gaza?

All the IDF has to do is continue the siege. Gaza will run out of essential supplies quickly.

What border will they hop? You realized that Egypt is no friend of Hamas after what they did near Raffah.

The Reuters live stream from Gaza is creepy when the singing and chanting starts.
