First maybe your mentor did something shouldn’t have been. Second, troops sometimes behave badly….shocking IKR! And what fxcking double tap are you talking about. You do realize that Hamas launched an unprovoked attack on “civilians”. If the IDF kills 1 or 1,000 attacking military targets responding to Oct 7th its a shame but the blame falls squarely on the Hamas Leadership…..which their leader is oh so tough hanging in Quater in his penthouse and bank account estimated at $4B while calling for the children, women and elderly of Gaza to shed their blood….like how can you defend that?

The real target, as it were, was the Saudi relationship with Israel. They are trying to kill that rapprochement before it germinates into something more fruitful. If Israel fully normalizes relations with KSA, then that just leaves a couple of basket case countries - that aren't even really nation states any longer - in Syria and Hezb'allah-controlled southern Lebanon with a distant Iran as the only real enemies left in the region.

Was there also not some sort of agreement in the works to get more Saudi funding and recognition for the Palestinian state with them as well?

Hamas seems to frick over their own people more then isreal ever could.

I wonder if the strategy is now going to be to just cut off everything to the north and let it bleed out while letting the aid go south or if they're going to actually try to clear the city

I never really got the Hamas end game…

Although they put 20th and 21st century weaponry and technology together to achieve their goal, their “end game” is based on medieval thinking and adherence to a 7th century religion. We’re not expected to comprehend their “end game”. That’s why the problem is insoluble in a 21st century world.

In the words of Tolkien, The IDF has them between the hammer and the anvil. I think they will just keep pushing inward from the north and south and clear it block by block.

Now once the North is cleared, what is their plan for the South is my question.

what they are referring to is Palestinians inside Israel. Inside Israel they are not citizens and have reduced privileges and rights. They do not get the same services as a citizen. They have to undergo extra security, etc. They also can not freely travel from Palestinian areas into Israel; it is highly restricted. This is based on the presumption that Israel IS Palestine. So they can claim apartheid within the borders of Israel because Israel itself is the occupied area. Neat trick they do.

Not to mention they likely wouldn't suffer from that secondary status if not for the whole issue of Palestinians inside of Isreal having this really nasty habit of killing Israelis

I think we will see more of what happened at the "refugee camp". They'll probe with ground forces, but not engage fully. They'll back off and call in airstrikes on the pockets of greatest resistance. They likely have the major parts of the tunnel system more or less mapped already, and will send preemptive strikes towards those areas as needed.

Wonder if there are any good deals to be had at the Maatouk Prince SARL Army & Navy surplus shop?

I seriously doubt Nasrallah actually appears in person. It would make him a very easy target for removal. They will probably have giant screens and speakers setup as he delivers a speech from a secure location.

The calls for a ceasefire don't amount to much when your "leaders" are publicly saying they will do what they did "again and again" and directly asking children and old folks to die for them.

Better jump on them before the deals are gone

Sidenote: I seen the Ukrainians have resorted to firing shovels out of their RPGs

Notice the Jords, the Egyptians, and the Saudis have done and said exactly jack shite since this all started. Their play is pretty clear here.

Makes it seem like our end game is isolating Iran.

Bet Israel is never leaving north gaza now. They’ll never leave the south either if they decide to take that too. All those gaza residents are Europe/North America bound
