I get what you're saying and its similar to what im saying. If the guy truly believed what he said, then no reason for the US to waste valuable resources to go get him. If he was forced to say that, obviously its a different story, but at what point does a man reach that point? I feel for the guys family and its an awful thing, but if the guy was truly denouncing then he dealt with his decision.

I disagree. I'm not concerned but I've never been afraid to die. This guy has been captured for a year +. At some point you come to terms. My terms would have been reached a long time ago.

This is why I said what I said, if saying these things would help him or someone else, then I can see saying this or whatever they want you to say. But if you know that they are going to slaughter you no matter what, then why give them this last bit of your dignity? I'm not judging him or looking down on him, I'm just saying that if I'm in that situation and there is literally nothing left for me, I'm standing in front of the camera and I know this is it, I'm at least going to go out on my terms as much as I can. That's not being a billy bad arse.

Guy has been in captivity for some time. What he "truly believed" and what he truly believed after being held hostage for a while might be different.

Alright, bro. I'm not saying I'd fight a bunch of terrorist. But if I'm sitting in some terrorist camp for two years, I have accepted death. Reading a bunch of anti American garbage and anti-faith statements wouldn't initiate a flight response. Sorry.

I understand, and first off let me say this, frick ISIS in every possible way. Those savages need to be nuked to hell and back. All im saying is if he said those things in true belief, its hard to feel like he may have not gotten himself into that spot.
