I believe in God. I beleive he sent his son Jesus to make the ultimate sacrifice for me and my sins. I hope i never have to make the choice to denounce God or die, bit if i am.. i hope i am strong enough to stand up for what i believe in and a witness for other to accept Christ as their Lord and savioir.
for those who dont believe, that is your choice. Everyone has a choice

quote:Then I disagree with that part of the scripture.
Denouncing him in the selfish act of saving yourself is kind of the point of that scripture
Saying the words doesn't mean you believe them. I would hope god can understand that. I don't want to believe in a god that can't.
I don't understand why he would want you to die when you can say some meaningless phrase and spend the rest of your life making the world a better place and spreading his word.
I was thinking about this hypo last night: "Either tell your SO that you don't love her or die." I would say those words in a second and she wouldn't fault me for it because she knows they carry no meaning. shite, she would be begging me to say it.

It's not the words, it's the choice you are making
I guess it would get hairy when you are broken down to that, but I doubt He forgives you saying it willy nilly just to save yourself

That weakness you're showing is a weakness put there by god himself. Faulting you for that weakness is petty and I refuse to believe that.

I'm not trying to force you to believe anything. But if a person believes in God's word, there wasn't a whole lot of room for personal interpretation

If a person believes in one god, but bends to the will of another to save their arse, isn't that person now their god?

Brcause he has put the threats of one "god" over another

Not in the literal sense that you would now pray to that person.
Kind of like how people say "money is his God"

Its really crystal clear. Don't mean to offend.
If you are ashamed. Peter even had a lapse of faith.
I think though if its what is in your heart, your words will never betray you.
I do not consider myself "hardcore" but at the end of the day, my life is in the hands of the Lord. If he wills me to be rescued, he will provide a way. If death comes, so be it.
Matthew 16:25 : "For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it."

You're losing me.
Can I ask your take on my posts about god creating us with human weakness and then faulting us for that same weakness?

Should have said if you believe in the bible. It goes back to the literal vs figurative interpretations
