Its really crystal clear. Don't mean to offend.
No offense taken. I know thats what the Bible says, but that isnt what I chose to believe. The God I chose to believe, doesnt judge a man by the words he speaks or the church he goes to or the people he trys to convert, but by the actions he takes. In my heaven, people who have denied God even exists, but lead good lives and treat other people with compassion, still get in

So if you show human weakness (the same weakness put there by god himself) in front of other men, he will spite you and relegate you to eternal damnation? That's a fricked up god. I refuse to believe in that perception of god.

Not here to argue. Won't argue with you.

Will offer to buy you lunch and explain why I feel what I believe.

Suffering is what we sign up for when we are Christians. There are Saints before us, true Martyrs, who died standing for Christ.

Denouncing our faith in the face of various trials should be not be acceptable.

It's on "Liveleak." However, they show the beginning and the aftermath. It is possible it was staged, but I doubt it. Brutal.

I respect that. I just chose to believe in a God that isnt in it for praise or people dying for him. My God loves non-believers just as much as believers as long as they are good people

The thing that gets me is, what would I do in a situation in which they threatened to kill the life of another innocent soul depending on my words. Now you're faced with a serious moral dilemma.

People in here saying they wouldn't denounce God if a gun was pointed at their head-would you do it if a gun was pointed at your fellow man's head?

I have never been in a situation like that, so I can't pretend to know what I would do.

If I were to believe in God, this is the one I would choose to believe. One that doesn't care about procedure - going to church, standing up at the right time, saying the right phrases at the right time, partaking in the sacraments, etc. He wants people to help others. To make this world a better place. If that means you have to deny him in order to survive and continue to help others and make this world a better place, then so be it.

It doesn't matter if you worship rocks; if you make the world a better place, you're good in his eyes.

if you saved that person and yourself wouldn't you have time to make your actions right with god?

That case is different. It's an unselfish act to save another. You would also be able to "accept" Jesus again

If you denounce him to save your arse, that's it? No apologizing and making things right?

Then hopefully the almighty can forgive your human weakness; that same weakness put there by his own hands. I refuse to believe that a god that powerful can be that petty.

Denouncing him in the selfish act of saving yourself is kind of the point of that scripture
