sounds to me like this young lady has really "shite in her nest"....she is not unwelcome in the US and will probably be killed if she tries to go back to the middle east. Tough luck...gotta live with the consequences of her decisions.

They're using some obscure rarely used law to say she was never a citizen by claiming that her father was a foreign diplomat at the time of her birth. Apparently he wasn't really. I doubt it would hold up in court, but it doesn't really matter because it'll never go to one anyway

Not rarely used at all - actually well-known among people who are here on work visas from developed countries and occasionally exploited by those from developing countries. Not saying that I agree with Pompeo's move, but this is a legal gray area.

She was married twice and they were both killed so that isn't an issue.

As for the kid, if it were up to me I would let the kid back to be with his grandparents. They didn't do anything wrong and publicly condemned her actions from Day 1, and obviously the kid can't choose his mom.


As for her... If she's so serious about facing the consequences of her actions then let her. Put her on trial for treason and sentence her to death. That would make a better example out of her IMO than leaving her overseas where she can continue to speak freely to international press for the rest of her natural life.
