There is something fundamentally wrong with Islam that allows it to be easily construed to hate others with an air or superiority over other race/religions. It easily breeds hate and can become extreme.
And yes I've read the Koran completely front to back several times before years later studying it.

same could be argued about right wing fundamentalist Christianity....

A bit off topic but there is a muslim prayer room @ MD Anderson in Houston incase any of our Texan brethren needed to relive themselves of a bowel movement when visiting.

I swear on everything... Why would I brag about reading and actually buying into the Koran and be lying? 
I was in the midst of a rough time in my life and was completely lost.... But I learned a lot during this period.... But yeah I'm making that up and never read the Koran front to back. Twice.
And yes extreme fundamentalist suck no matter where it comes from. I don't agree with any organized religion.
But Christianity has a fundemental base to accept and to be generous. Yes a lot of people have died by the sword behind Christianity but that has a lot to do with how successful it has been and for ones in power being able to dominate others with a superior nation or whatever. Christianity has also been the most generous and giving institution in the history of the world.
Islam is built on a us vs them at its core and not to be as forgiven and accepting of others. That is all fact....

Seriously Shiite and Sunni Muslims have been trying to wipe the other of the face of the planet since the death of Muhammad. There is a much larger number of fundamentalist than anyone is willing to admit.
