Yeti hates gun baws.
The North Face hates oilfield baws.

I stay away from both.

I have a couple RTIC's. Honestly, they're not quite as good as Yeti but definitely good enough. Whichever brand you go with, the key is to pre-cool the cooler before using it. Put a bag of ice in it overnight then drain it and pack for your trip. If it starts off cool the ice stays waaaay longer.

does anyone else call it an 'ice chest' rather than a 'cooler'...or is that just a south LA term?

Real baws go with K2 Coolers, they're a South Louisiana company.

Did not know that. I got one for my wife (no pics) when she graduated from grad school. We take it to the beach all the time and it keeps stuff really cold and the ice melts really slow even being out there all day.

I got one of these and have only used it a couple of times. I always grab my cheap igloo.
