it's a family holiday for my sibs and parents. mom sends us goodies and dad takes us out to dinner if we happen to be in the same place that day. we send her cards and let her know how much she means to us. it's a day i look forward to showing how much i cherish them and vise versa. imho, you only get one mom and one dad, so there can't be too many days like that. it may be manufactured, but what isn't?

as far as girls expecting diamonds, extravagant dinners and shite. frick that. my girl is less enthusiastic about it than i am, and that's fine with me. but when i have kids, i'm going to make it a family day with them like my folks did.
