I almost found out the hard way on 9/11. My friend and I were at the tail-end of a Seattle-to-Cabo road trip. We made it across the border and to our friend's house in SD just before the first plane hit.

The town is designed to keep you in it. We kept doing Big Ben - Parliament with the circuits of roundabouts.

My only other experience with it was walking across the border with some friends who were buying tramadol at a "pharmacy." Winning.

shite. Hole.

I've only been once since they started requiring passports and it was a sad reflection of the glory years. Literally 10% of the people that used to be there.

Outside of the bar area it looks a lot like parts of east LA. Baja in general reminds me a lot of SoCal.

Scuzzy fun in late 80s. Donkey show, vaginal target practice with silver dollars, Jai Alai gambling, chiclets by the handful, hilarious 3 piece old man band in the corner of a titty bar, too many little bottle beers to count, yayo on the cheap - good times.

Careful in the red light district... some o' them wimmenz ain't wimmenz

Awesome dude!!! I have done a few LONG trips like that, but yours sounds incredible. Tell us more. How long was the trip (in days/weeks?) How long in US and how long in Mexico? Car? Truck? RV?

Are the areas around Ensenada as beautiful and desolate as they say? I'm assuming y'all camped some... that must have been incredible, having a private beach for days.

My wife and I vacationed a week in Cabo, rented a car and went to La Paz. Maybe was a three hour drive but I got a feel for the trek you went on (albeit a tiny fraction). Arriving at the north end of Cabo after dark was a cluster. Hard-pack dirt/sand roads, few signs, fewer street-lights. Had to ask for directions at two gas stations, in very broken Spanish. But never even the slightest of a worry about my safety.

You asked for it... stripper lays on bar, legs cocked up & facing a target on wall a couple of feet away. Proceeds to load a stack of silver dollars in cooch and then fires one at a time at said target. I shite you not, one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. Unbelievable muscle control and pretty good aim.
I've seen em play the kazoo and stuff before, but this took the cake.
