Why did you only quote half of my question?
quote:

Go back and read it again and pay attention to the part in bold.
You restated the other half of the question in the next sentence, which I quoted and responded to. I quoted that first part on its own because the absurdity of it had to be pointed out. There is no scenario where things flying around the interior is better for the driver. None.
quote:

If you've lost control of a vehicle to such a degree that your passengers are flying around inside your vehicle with enough force to affect your ability to drive, you're not gaining control again.

I asked you to stop because you're making a fool of yourself. You just can't help it though, it seems.

My passenger isn't buckled, we are in an accident, he leaves his seat and cracks his head on mine. We are both unconscious with the car in drive and running. Maybe it continues rolling into traffic. Maybe it catches on fire and we both burn up.

If, instead, he were buckled, he would have remained in his seat and we would both be conscious. I put the car in park and kill it. We exit the vehicle and everyone lives. The end.

You should probably go ahead and read a few books before using this word again.

And maybe the tooth fairy swoops down and saves you both as long as we're playing the "stupid fricking hypothetical" game.

Or you hit a pole and it flies through the window and kills you both. The end.

Seatbelts are PPE, just as face masks are. They exist to protect the user, not other people. You know this, but you have to continue with your little shtick of arguing some off the wall hypothetical.

In what way is my "stupid fricking hypothetical" not a possibility? However unlikely you think it is, it is but one of thousands of things that can happen in an accident. And when you add them all up the result is buckle the frick up.
quote:

Or you hit a pole and it flies through the window and kills you both. The end.
I guess we would have been safe if we weren't buckled?
quote:

Seatbelts are PPE, just as face masks are. They exist to protect the user, not other people.
Surgeons wear face masks to prevent infecting the patient. A potentially sick person wears a face mask to prevent infecting others. My passengers wear seatbelts to protect themselves and one another, including the driver. Everyone in the vehicle is safer if everyone else is buckled up. I cannot believe I have to keep repeating this obvious statement.
quote:

What's off the wall is you arguing that passengers remaining in their seats could not possibly help the driver. I mean it's just absurd. It's stupid. It is just plainly idiotic. You should be ashamed for continuing to argue it.

This isn't surgery.

quote:

If they're showing symptoms. And then only sometimes. Usually they just sneeze and cough all over everyone.

quote:

My passengers wear seatbelts to protect themselves and one another, including the driver.

No, they wear seat belts to protect themselves. You keep making this odd argument that wearing a seat belt is to protect other people when it's not at all. The seat belt is there to protect the one wearing it. That's why it's referred to as a "personal restraint".

quote:

What's off the wall is you arguing that passengers remaining in their seats could not possibly help the driver.

No, I'm arguing that if passengers are no longer in their seats, the driver is fricked already. Unless he's wearing his seat belt. Because seat belts are their to protect the individual wearing it.

Obviously seat belts protect the wearer. The part you took exception to is the obvious fact that they protect others in the vehicle from the wearer, as well.

No, I'm arguing that if passengers are no longer in their seats, the driver is fricked already.
But what you are ignoring is there are many levels of "fricked". There is this vehicle is totaled fricked. There is we are all unconscious fricked. There is we're all dead fricked. Etc fricked.

It's a really, REALLY simple question that we have to ask ourselves... if you, the driver, are buckled, and you have a passenger and you get in a wreck, are you safer if your passenger remains in his seat or if he could fly about the passenger compartment?

You should stop being obtuse now, you are looking like a complete idiot.

Ya, that would be the "stupid fricking hypothetical" part.

quote:

This is about the driver though.

So you won't answer the question, then? If you would give it a shot, maybe you'd see how fricking stupid you sound right now.
