I'm just waiting for a new MKUltra to materialize. The last was during Occupy Wall Street.

The social media age has provided a megaphone to our fringe elements (both left and right, but the left fringe has more media/corporate support).
In turn these elements have emboldened the fringes to the point that, in their mind, they represent the “only” acceptable view, and no one else is worthy of getting close to the microphone. .
Politicians have figured out that they only need to appeal to the loudest mouths in their districts, not the balance of their own constituents.

Yes, I think that half the country just realized at some point in the past 20 years the news started lieing to us.. guessing it was when tech and media started to become one...I'm a upper middle class guy, never cared..hated trump at the beginning..voted Rubio..then Trump outed them and it was obvious.. don't trust anyone or anything I see on TV

Yes. Things got heated in the 60s with the Vietnam protests and assassinations, but people were mostly trusting of the media and the political rhetoric, for the most part, was not as divisive.
You really have no idea. Shooting black people or anyone with long hair was a common conversation. Bombs on campuses were a real concern. When you graduated from high school you had to figure out how to avoid the draft or you had a good chance of dying. What happened Wednesday was an ongoing threat in government buildings and college campuses across the nation. It wasn’t just left vs right. You had riots at the Chicago Democratic Convention because the left wasn’t left enough.

CIA opp. Volumes of unclassified stuff about it. Documentaries. It's how K2 (MK2) hit the OWS in 2011. Then it was knocked off and the really scary crap hit convenience stores.
Just look into it. It's interesting deep state stuff.

It’s not just the left. The right is just as virulent in its opposition to anything just left of a centrist position on any issue.
I know us trump people use terms like leftist, tear-jerker, libtard can't think of much worst...but we are called nazis and white supremacists, racists...so big reason for division

I'm not, nor have ever been a big fan of Trump, but he's essentially Bill Clinton from a political standpoint that also said mean things on Twitter. It's hilarious that he's been so controversial.

Yes. Leftists are completely and utterly unhinged. Words don’t mean anything anymore.

The large part of the problem is that politics has become our culture. Identity politics is destroying this country.

It's the rabid virulence of the left toward anyone who disagrees with them on anything.
So you're saying it's just the left? It isn't both sides most idiotic fringe 2% making everyone look bad? Nearly every person of every race and every social class i know are decent and level headed.

You can't even escape it in entertainment or sports anymore. I've tuned out more this year than ever. I don't know if I'll ever return to my normal viewership.

People aren’t being assassinated left and right. Kids aren’t being drafted. Black people aren’t third class citizens. Women aren’t second class citizens.
According to Leftists, all these things are still happening. Blacks are being genocided, 75% of women are raped in college, the KKK is in charge, gays are rounded up in camps, and white men should be punished. Leftists push this toxic narrative through the MSM, academia, and social media.
