Yep. The golden days of online poker for sure. Those times were legit awesome. Since then I've had to put thousands of hours into live cash games. It was amazing making the switch to live poker though. The live players were just so bad(well worse than the online guys) at every level...it's been a pretty easy grind since then. Just a lot more time consuming.

Zone poker. The games are soft. I was never good at online play. Live was always better for me.

That's why I put quotations around "cheating".
They are full of shite and it's their own damn fault he won.
Unfortunately it's a lot easier for a casino to buy a win in court than it is for an individual.

live is better for me because i'm lucky to have a bunch of fun players. it was a lot better 2 years ago when i played a lot
when i started pushing PLO with a few of the regs i saw so many people with the last name of the lady in OP lose like a grand every 5 hands or so
YOU DON'T SEE THAT ONLINE

had to fold AA and KK tonight post flop. Was not happy about it. On the plus side I got it in pre for 100BBs with KQo and was good with K high vs 98s.
This is straight up gibberish to me, I won't front

B/c live play is considerably easier. Without a doubt. I remember when I first switched over. I would sit in 1-3 nl(occasional 2-5) games and just be flabbergasted at how technically bad these live cash regs were.
I played 4 to 8 tables of 100nl on stars back in the day, and those refs were eons ahead of almost all live nl players. I didn't really run into many tough players down here in the south until I okayes some of the nastier 5-10nl games and the 5-10-25 nl and PLO games. They def had some monsters playing in those

Yea. I've played with Jamar a bunch. I play Harrahs-some lauberge- some at the beau, etc.
i play in a sweet private game in br once or twice a month as well.
-where are you living/playing now? I don't keep up anymore. Last I remember is your law school graduation...I think. Lol.

I'm just amazed at the downvotes I got. What did I say that was so offensive?
To break that down, the folding pocket kings and aces is pretty self-explanatory. I got raised later in the hand with those 2 hands so I had to fold. One guy had 3 of a kind (which is also know as a set) and the other flop an ace with ace king.
The rest is a bit more involved. In a cash game, you usually start out with 100 big blinds or BBs. To get all of that money in before the flop usually means 2 big hands going against each other. This chick had been raising a wide range of hands, so I had been reraising (or 3-betting her) her with a wide value range. We had another guy behind me go all in for a small amount more, so when she called him, I knew her range was mostly weak, so I went all in.

went back home after law school b/c this board told me the economy was about to collapse and i had a job
then played some limit and lost my mind and quit for 8 years. play Lauberge mostly. started small and got my roll up to playing 2-5. then started learning PLO but had life get in the way and i didn't play really in 2018
it's very difficult knowing that i can't grind anymore so i'm a lot looser, which is probably good in the long run. i can talk theoretical strat all day but i'm extremely exploitable live b/c i play very exploitatively due to all the bad regs. GTO would get you destroyed here.

these regs you speak of....were they laffy? Lake Charles? Houston?
I'm good friends with a bunch of monsters from the area btw laffy and lake Charles. I'm wondering if you are talking about the same guys

Oh I wasn't offended and I didn't downvote, I just read it and was like...."yeah I haven't the foggiest idea what any of that meant."
I know next to nothing about card games irl.
Thanks for the explanation! Much obliged

It's just an adjustment. Playing exploitatively live is the only way to win.

all over
old guy was the one telling me about it one night. he would wear ballcaps. would argue all the rules
he got the doctor mazen to play out there i think. mazen was from TX
the NL pro-regs were mostly from LC (some guys from TX would come out for a week t a time and air bnb a house here and there) but the ATM-regs were from SE TX, Orange to Houston.
the PLO guys...man i mostly know them from their stupid callin names. there's the young guy with teh dip and ballcap. Jared. S K (an indian guy). Mr. Ed. black guy whose name i can't think off off hand. he was an engineer but retired adn is now a bail bondsman.

when you have 3+ in almost every hand and fold equity doesn't exist, all you can do is wait for value town and try to maximize (esp when you're on the right end of a cooler)

I wonder if I'm the "young guy with the dip/baseball hat"? Lol
That's how a bunch of people describe me. Lol

I just got a raise called on the turn with a turned boat (5's full of K's) by a flush draw as we speak. Too damn bad he didnt hit his flush on the river.
