No, because I didn't state profit, I stated revenue. Slackster is assuming something else.
But revenue alone doesn't mean jack shite.
ETA - you're probably not wrong that CFA is more successful (profitable) per location, but revenue alone doesn't measure that. That's all I'm saying.

Popeyes fad will last at most a few more weeks, then Chick-fil-A will stand til the end of eternity.

I have a business degree so I may be a little more business savvy than you. But if Chick-Fil-A has a 4 to 1 revenue advantage over Popeyes, Popeyes will not be the death of Chick-Fil-A.
I mean not necessarily. If their expenses are way more (ie paying their employees more to be nice etc)., rent is more expensive (CFA are always in nice places) and higher end ingredients (potentially), means their EBITDA and Net Income could be much lower than your revenue metric is implying it is. I've seen tons of companies who have a lot of revenue but don't control expenses well at all and go into Chapter 11

It does when you see they have nearly the same number of locations. When RB produces their Top 500 list, CFA is around #7 while Popeye's is #25 or so. The rest of the top 10 on the list is dominated by chains with 10,000+ locations. CFA punches well above their weight for a reason and Popeye's doesn't.

Yes dumbass, revenue. I didn't state profit or anything else. Go find my first post in the thread and try reading it for yourself.

No, it doesn't.

Punching above their weight is expensive. They pay top dollar.

I didn't say it did. I simply put total revenue and the number of locations for each chain in the same year, that data is much more readily available. The margins across that industry are in a narrow range across the board so CFA profits probably mirror that revenue ratio too.

Popeyes and Chick-Fil-A fixed costs are going to be somewhat similar.
Popeyes poses no threat to Chick-Fil-A.

Nah, CFA will be fine. Good service will beat out shitty service.

If one location is pulling in $4M and the other is barely making $1M, and they are literally a few blocks from each other, I seriously doubt CFA is paying enough to make a significant dent in the profit margin. In fact the average for CFA is $9.85/hour vs Popeye's $9.19/hour.

Fair enough. I agree with your ultimately conclusion. Just pointing out that profit is what makes you successful, not revenue.

Had it tonight. The location was slammed but surprisingly moved ok. I’m used to 10 people ahead of me taking 40 minutes (whereas at cfa 40 people takes less than 10 minutes). Drive through was moving slow but inside despite the line was moving well.
I had spicy and wife had regular - both enjoyed them very much.
That being said - cfa ain’t going anywhere and will still be my choice.

The only thing that CFA does better than Popeyes is having clean bathrooms.
Posted on 8/23/19 at 8:54 pm to lepdagod
I go to CFA more frequently than I’d like to admit, I haven’t defected to Popeyes and the lines haven’t gotten any shorter at CFA. If anything this “war” is probably getting increased sales for both parties
