Maybe this is Mother Nature's response to the desire for nationalized health care.
If Mother Nature kills off the weak and old, we won't need government to ration care.

Let's imagine, hypothetically, that this virus had a 90-100% mortality rate for anyone infected, healthy or not and was spreading with no symptoms like it currently is. It would be absolute chaos.
If that was the case, there aint a doggone thing any doctor or scientist could ever do about it. The only explanation for that is God just wanted to either end or restart the world. Can only hope youre in good standing with him.

Isn't this common sense? You can't prepare for something you don't know about. It has to happen, then they have to find out how it spreads, then figure out a vaccine. There are a lot of questions that can't be answers until it actually happens.

At the very least let's hope the government learns something this time around so it will be better prepared if something worse hits. Of course, government never learns.

Just thinking about this some more, at this point, I think the only people who can say with any certainty haven't been exposed to Covid-19 are people who have been out to sea since before last November and the folks who have been up on the International Space Station (assuming no new astronauts/cosmonauts have been sent up there since November).
Will the Navy keep our nuclear subs out to sea longer than usual to make sure we have ships full of sailors who are healthy?

Exactly how does the world prepare for this?

Huge continuity of humanity bunkers underneath a few mountains spread out across the country.
Each bunker should be able to hold a 1,000 or more people for several years.
Each bunker should have secure communications with the other bunkers and each bunker will have its own science section.
Once a cure for the future super-bug is found, the information is shared among the other bunkers, all of the survivors are immunized and humanity returns to the surface to rebuild civilization.
