Not fraud. You can spend the money however you please.

Safeco, and yes, they suck balls. (Same company, if my info is correct)
They fought me on a claim they didn't even have to pay, and I was the insured.
Their claim reps don't even know what "subrogation" means.

Just because she has insurance doesn't mean it covers everything. Maxing out her stuff at 15k infers she has crappy insurance.

I eventually get a phone call from my insurance company letting me know she is sueing.
Something like this happened to my daddy. Years ago, I was at my aunt's (his sister) and when he came pick me up, my aunt asked my dad if he could go bring her house maid home. When she got out, she didn't lift her foot high enough and dripped on the floor getting out. She caught herself, said she was fine, nothing to worry about, etc.
All of a sudden his insurance went up and he went check out it. They told him they were sued by the lady who injured herself getting out of his truck. The dude who ran the branch my dad used, lived a few houses down from us and my dad went talk with him and he fixed the price back to the original cost, but how is it that easy to sue? I mean, they didn't even do any type of investigation to see if the woman might have been lying, etc.

There is literally zero percent chance this is true. There are so many things wrong with this post, I don't know where to begin, but everything you posted is impossible.
First, there is no insurance company in the world that would pay any claim without a minimum of contacting the policyholder, and confirming that the claimant was even in the vehicle when the alleged incident occurred. They would confirm the allegations of the claimant.
Secondly, if your dad was sued, he would legally have to be served with the petition. He would HAVE to have notice, and it has nothing to do with the insurance company.
I could go on and on, but either your dad completely lied about everything to you, or you are literally making this information up to post. It's impossible that it could have happened the way you are saying.

Same thing happened to my old Grand Cherokee. Bumper was dented in, but I realized it was just cheap plastic and I could push the dent out from the inside. Insurance wrote a check in my name for the cost of the repair at my body shop of choice. I think it was around $1000 and I put it towards my MacBook that I still have today. 3 years later I sold the jeep for $2k.

I would definitely look into it because nowadays some insurance companies have wised up and will only pay you once you establish to them where you are getting it fixed and they will pay the repair shop personally. You're the one that is going to have to live with your decision. If you do the wrong thing, it will always come back to you.

This happened in the early 80s, but I swear on the bible it happened.

If you own the car it's fine, if the bank owns it it's illegal
