Pretty sure the OP is referring to a situation when there is moderate traffic and there's a long line of people in the left lane behind an 18-wheeler slowly passing another 18-wheeler. In which case there is no way to know that some d-bag behind me wants to go "faster" than me. I mean, all the cars jammed up in the left lane want to go faster than 62 mph, but some d-bag isn't satisfied with me leaving a safe distance so he feels the need to fill that gap. I don't leave a safe gap for you to come fill it. I leave it so that I can safely follow in the long line of cars that are going the same forced speed.

You keep talking about the law. Again, does someone driving slower in front of you in the left lane absolve the following driver from observing laws about following too closely, failure to control speed or the prohibition against unsafe lane changes?

For dumbasses like you and others in this thread that need everything spelled out to them exactly, I didn't say I'm driving slow in the fast lane, holding up traffic. I am in the fast lane, going faster than the right lane, but it is bumper to bumper, passing slower cars on the right. The DB whips into the right lane and tries to pass everyone in the left lane, wanting to slip back into the left lane at the bumper of the slow vehicle in the right lane.

Yes, as a matter of fact there is.
When some DB cuts off someone passing perfectly legally purely out of spite and that someone turns out to be an unmarked patrol car.
Then you get a very deserved citation for "aggressive driving", which is a good deal more serious than a moving violation like speeding.
