Dtr can't find keys at friends apartment and she needs to get back to her school several hours away.

Aside from calling a Toyota dealership tomorrow and hoping that they can do something about a replacement, is there anywhere today that you guys can suggest trying?

Thanks.

Pop A Lock will have them, and for much less than the frickhead dealership.

Is the car button start or does it require an actual key? You may be able to get one cut today and worry about the fob later.

Aren't those like $300-400 to replace? And can only be replaced from a dealership?

Right but I'm not there and wouldn't have a clue where to start to find a reputable one.

No nothing figured out yet. Thanks. The link above isn't taking calls and Pop a Lock doesn't have what we need and can't order until Monday.

Tell your friend to lube up before going to the dealership because she's about to get raped in the arse. Those smart keys aren't cheap.

Yep.

Lost the key fob to my car last week while out and about, outside of my vehicle.. couldn’t find it for the life of me, and couldn’t find the spare.. called the $tealership, got a quote for a new key fob ($370!), was all ready to have my car towed to the dealership and bend over- then suddenly remembered one other place I might’ve put the spare for safekeeping.. and there it was! Was still contemplating paying for a backup key fob since i didnt want to have just one, then a couple days later the original key i’d lost turned up.. Whew!

Just remembered, in the time i was pricing spare, backup key fobs, i found out that there’s a chain of places here in TX (not sure if BR has them) called Batteries Plus Bulbs who will order and program a new key fob cheaper than the dealership will.. they were going to do it for $220 vs $370 at the dealership.. also there is the option of ordering a replacement from Amazon for $20 or $30 (make sure you order the full fob and not just the shell) and Batteries Plus Bulbs will program it for $40.. again though, would take a couple days from Amazon usually.. was prepared to go that route before my original key i’d lost turned up.

Toyota's are very finicky about the laser cut keys. I would definitely go to a trusted locksmith. If the cut key is slightly off, it will no open the doors. Me, personally, I would just bend over and take the arse raping from the dealership.
