In my book the worst breech of etiquette is Microwaving fish left overs.

The best pot lucks are when you have a couple of Vietnamese girls who know how to cook. And they always make way too much.

Some of that is crap left over from yesterday’s church social that they re-wrapped and brought to the pot-luck.

There is a rumor that a tray of deviled eggs has been passed around in one Mississippi church circle community for going on 6 years now.

I don't feel bad for not contributing. For one thing, every year we have more food than people to eat it. So, a lot of it gets thrown out anyway.

there was a China man who would just wonder from floor to floor during holiday season to see who had food so he could eat. Never once was he invited or did he bring food.

I never bring food to potlucks at work. I also never eat from them for that reason

Rather eat my chicken, rice/potatoes, and Veggies instead.

But I agree OP. Pretty shitty thing to do

The people who sit on the toilet and text their friends while others are waiting to get in the bathroom are just as bad.

Just texting or does posting on TD count? Can you see me right now?

Most of them are women and when asked why they spent 25 minutes in the bathroom, they almost always say that they were texting. If they are posting anywhere, it would be on Reddit. My coworkers are not cool enough for TD.

Our office has them; no way every person contributes. Our office manager will email out if they still need dishes. People need to step up to make sure there's enough food.

In your instance, 100 people bringing food is way too much, but 20 isn't enough. They need to lay it all out ahead of time and let people know if there's not going to be enough food if there more employees don't contribute.

My first day at my previous employer was on the potluck day before Thanksgiving after Katrina. Well, no one said shite before I showed up to work so I had no idea. I ate a little because plenty of people told me not to worry and I didn't want to come off as an anti-social douchebag sitting by myself.

yes - face timing your family in a restaurant, and talking with your mouth full of food while others are trying to enjoy their meals. have a coworkers that does that, and it grates my nerves

Were they not invited to the potluck? Was bringing a dish mandatory? Quit bitching.

while I understand her position, you gotta hit this on the head before really really hard and tell people they have to bring something to eat
