I see countless Aggies wearing white cowboy hats trying their best to look like Alan Jackson at the Houston rodeo every year

Swift is a uniquely feminine phenomenon. So it will have all the associated drama with it.

Trying to shoehorn her on dudes watching football was bizarre.

Thousands of people will be paying >$500 to go to lsu vs Alabama (myself included). How is that so different?

It's going to be so good. I've been on a Rep kick at the gym but am trying to hold off until she releases TV but the other albums don't give me the same energy to do my cardio to. And if Taylor's treadmill workout is good enough for her its good enough for me! I just can't do a 3 hour Eras tour set list like she can on the treadmill.

the point is that people from all walks of life spend money on useless stuff. Our economy depends on it. Ask anyone that has traveled to playoff or national championship game, a couple grand trip to potentially watch your team get their shite pushed in (see 21-0)

The demand for live events is higher than the supply. Alive in Chains is not walking on the stage any time soon. The heyday for 00s music festivals is gone.

Swift fills that void for 40 and under. Particularly since good parents aren't going to take their teenager to Cardi B concert.

A principled conservative should celebrate Swift. There is hardly anyone on the planet more capitalist than her

but Taylor swift fans who are a different demographic keep shelling out 10k for tickets to see bland woke garbage

But how else would mama post concert pics on Facebook and get validation from people who don’t really give a crap?

Thank you for bein a supportive BF and allowing her to clown around, and seeing that it is kinda fun for us. Taylor plays along and teases her fans with the Easter Eggs. Every single thing does is plotted very strategically by her.

She really makes being a fan fun. That's part of the fun and phenomenon.

Many parents find her music to be a better alternative to all the terrible music out there that kids listen to these days...

This. You have to put some respect on her name. She’s been in music for some time now putting out hit after hit. And not a single one is about drugs, or how wet her pussy is.

She has consistently been churning out hit songs since the late 2000’s after her father bought her way into a record label.

These songs are hits because she writes simple chord progressions with solid hooks and lyrics that basically mirror the psyche of most women. Thus, women find her music extremely relatable and catchy.

She’s attractive enough to get attention (and not drive attention away), but not so overwhelmingly attractive as to make women feel insecure about themselves. Thus, they can see themselves in her rather than see their competition.

She managed to both age with her original fans and continuously recycle younger fans into her ranks despite multiple major shifts in sound.

Parents consider her music to be significantly less problematic than most other pop stars of the same time period.

Taylor Swift has done a great job with her social media team of creating a persona that feels very humble, accessible, and authentic to young women who give a shite about these sorts of things.

All of these things have contributed to her becoming one of the few sustained and consistent super stars of the 2010’s.

You've heard of Elvis and The Beatles, right? Smae thing, different era.

Problem you are going to have with saying this is guys will say 'at least they were talented' with bringing up Elvis and The Beatles.... however do you think that Elvis or The Beatles were popular because they could 'play better music'? Absolutely not. Ask any woman who grew up during that time and ask how great musicly they were.... my mom who was a teenager during Beatlemania couldn't give a rats arse if they were the best band or not.

if you'd have ever seen Elvis live, before he was jumbo Elvis swirling down the bowl, you'd think differently

your mom, like most women that are attracted to entertainers, particularly those in the music industry, aren't the best judges of that, nor are they necessarily attracted to the music

That's kinda my point with Taylor Swift. Her fans don't care if she is the best singer, musician or whatever.

it is not like Swift is going out there with a guitar and backup band. Her stage, light show, and all that is a spectacle

I have seen some shitty acts in my day. Swift might not be my jam but i respect her for putting on a show.
