Absolutely.
Most of these middle class guy going wild while out of town away from the family stories generally don't get past the arrested for DUI/solicitation, etc., if they even get that far.
This one is a mess.

This story is already sort of strange enough. Not necessarily someone going looking for drugs and dying, just all of the little details.
I hope they release them all. He moved around a lot. I'm beginning to think that he befriended someone with transportation that helped him hit a few ATMs and find a plug. Maybe ingested some bad stuff or fell by the hand of another. I think the police got a tip he was dead, followed up on tip and the body had been moved. Went back to the tipster and couldn't get any better info. They had to wait for the body to reappear.

That $10K reward money may have come in to play.

think that post was made by the wife’s sister. The wife doesn’t use Nathan’s last name on fb. His ex wife is remarried and his two oldest sons were adopted and have the step father’s last name. The oldest boy is 19 or 20.
For whatever reason in my mind this dovetails with a history of substance abuse. I doubt the stepfather adopted those boys if he was highly involved in raising them (I know this is judgmental).

The cause and manner of death are still unknown pending an autopsy, though police say the case is not being investigated as a homicide at this time.

quote:I work at Exxon and drive by that funeral home where the body was found every day, I was telling a friend we need to go explore that spooky arse looking place last week. Not a area i like being in after dark
So I work downtown and on my lunch break i drove by the location (news was out there). I was surprised - It is not exactly what i pictured from the reports. The location is not on Chippewa or Scenic Hwy. and is not really visible from either. It's on Lobelia ave near the coroner of Ontario st. (It IS right behind that funeral home) my take aways:
1. Whoever put the body there is very familiar with that area. Not just saying they are familiar with NBR generally or the hood or whatever. They are familiar with that exact location. It is tucked away and basically invisible from either main road. No chance this was someone just driving around looking for a good dumpsite.
2. The likelihood of his, not from Baton Rouge middle aged white guy, business partner leaving the body there is precisely ZERO.
3. Its possible even likely the body has been there since Feb. 23rd.

Imagine this man’s awful luck if he just happened to find the discarded wallet and suddenly it’s his face using a dead man’s debit card.

Even the plant workers probably don’t even know about those garages. People working in those plants around that area will stay on scenic or Chippewa. No need to drive down lobelia for any reason.
Exxon started buying up all of that property about 20-25yrs ago and clearing the area out. Only someone from that general area, or ties to that area would even know about this place. It’s not a place someone driving around looking for a place to dump a body would stumble across.

Don't toxicology tests and autopsies take a little time? I'd assume that we wouldn't know the cause of death for a few days at least.

This is an interview Unfiltered with Kiran did with Texas Equusearch before his body was discovered. It gives a little more info on the atm usage/timeline. Also mentions he had been sober for a long time and was still working on recovery.

That's very interesting. The lady at the bus station remembering him there at 2:30 is really interesting. Wonder where he was between leaving Happy's and going there? Also interesting that he told her he lost his phone, so apparently, that happened before he went to the bus station and he lost it himself. He may have lost his wallet the same way.
Sounds like someone else used the ATM at 5:30 am rather than Nathan, but it was unclear if that time was checking the balance or withdrawing money. Miller said not much money was withdrawn at any time.

The “awful luck” aspect is attempting to commit the crime of debit card fraud / possession of stolen property and instead becoming a murder suspect.

Agree. The story is on the front page of the FOX news app. Check out the comments. I wish they would put the part about the drugs on there. BR is getting blasted (which it does deserve) but I think this story could have happened anywhere. Details need to get out.

EBR Coronor's website.
quote:
A coroner’s investigator gathers the information concerning the circumstances of death, the medical history, and the social history. If there is sufficient history and the circumstances are consistent with a death due to known medical problems, an autopsy is not usually performed. If however, there is any evidence of foul play or if the circumstances of the death are unusual, an autopsy is usually performed.
quote:
The autopsy report is usually ready about 60-90 days after the autopsy is performed.
Copies of the autopsy report may be obtained from the Coroner’s Office. Appropriate forms and fees will apply. An autopsy report on cases under police investigation will not be released to anyone other than law enforcement agencies.

I watched that whole interview. It sounds like when he was seen by the witness at the Greyhound station at 2:30 he was confused and trying to find out how to get back to his hotel but he didn't have his phone already. Pretty sad
