So this dude was willingly around the Greyhound station after 1 am?
Posted on 3/2/23 at 10:48 am to OysterPoBoy
That's a pretty decent walk from 3rd Street too through some sketchy areas. I can't see how anyone would look around and think this seems like a good idea.

Has anyone released the exact time stamps from these ATM visits?
Posted on 3/2/23 at 10:51 am to fallguy_1978
It gets progressively worse the whole way. If he did that willingly there must be more to this story.

This has been atrocious reporting. Why not say it was Millard using his own ATM card from the jump? The involvement with the other person they questioned read as if he stole and used the card. Again, awful reporting.
Like I said regarding the New Jersey tourist that disappeared in NOLA last year on a 1 night business trip, they were reporting his card was being used as the investigation said, but in the end he had jumped off the bridge into the river. And They didn’t find his body for like 3mo.
8 days later and no trace. Sounds like more planning & less impulse

I don't think I'd make that walk during the daytime tbh.

“A homeless man was seen with Millard on Florida St. when he did go missing, according to sources. The homeless man then left Millard and Millard is said to have gone his own way. He has been missing since then.”

This would tell us a lot more if we knew what time and exactly where he was seen with a homeless man on Florida st.
This could have been very near the hotel on Florida st..
Sounds more and more like a car was not used and it all took place on foot.
The article says “ has been missing since”.
Sounds like they mean that so far there is no other video of Millard after that but who knows with such vague reporting of the events.

Read the whole thread and was thinking the same. Happy’s just said he was only served water, not that he was refused alcohol.
The man must have been falling down drunk for Happy’s not to have served him. I’ve never heard of anyone being cut off there.

I’ve been to Ivys mower store right there and felt nervous walking from my truck to the front door at noon. Bums walking everywhere.

Maybe he thought that Popeye's was still open. Homeless guy had to tell him it closed.

Yep. They've fixed a few for me too but once you get east of 110 it declines pretty quickly

Commuted to BRCC everyday for 2 years and man did I get some exposure. They were giving covid shots to each other 4 years before the pandemic.

That gas station is incredibly sketchy across the street from the Greyhound station. I’ve been inside of it when I was waiting for an oil change awhile ago at the 360 automotive solutions place (it was called something else years back). Crack heads everywhere and you always had eyes peering at you.

Any scenario where this guy got some cash, dropped all of his shite, and got on a bus?
Random encounters with thugs and homeless people don't seem like the type of thing that leads to both murder AND competent hiding of the body. If someone was going to just mug the guy and even shoot him, wouldn't they have just done the deed and then slipped back into whatever sewer they crawled up from?
I still think this guy either purposely ran away from his life back home OR he got in someone's car /entered someone else's apartment or hotel room thinking he was going to do one thing (sex and cocaine) and ended up dead.

I’m not trying to tarnish this man in any way; but it would feel better to know BRPD and the local media aren’t this terrible and are misreporting so much deliberately. But….probably not.
They should absolutely drag the guy and release the dirty laundry in the media - as there are responsible business owners and tipped employees that are directly impacted as their area was positioned a week ago as being full of “Predators of Tourists that Can’t Even Walk a Block to Their Hotel”.
The area’s reputation is more important than sparing a wife and a couple kids having to get a few whispers around town about them.
Besides this thread, is there anywhere else that there is engagement about this story on the internet?
In my bubble, it feels like us stirring for details has done more to deflate the “Baton Rouge Boogeyman” than local media has done.

My guess the actual perp forced him to give him the pin, used it to get cash and then dumped the card and someone else used it for small purchases, that’s why he was let go from custody
I mean that would still be a crime. You find a credit card on the street, you cant just go shopping with it.

I've read most of this thread and the reported story keeps changing; that said, it appears that the person released from custody was not the same person that made the small purchases at the Chevron.

Nah, it was the person using the card at the ATM who was released.
Might be the only thing in this whole clusterfrick of a story that hasn’t really changed. LOL
