Yeah it's crazy. It's almost impossible to manage your data. I know for sure comcast gives you a weak-assed data monitor that updates once a freaking month...after they've billed you! It's impossible to police unless you live alone and are a Nazi about wifi security.

i have wasted so much time and money on the fun with those fricking cock suckers
i've gone back and forth between them and AT&T probably 6-7 times since living in Houston and neither is better, i always have shitty service, customer service, installation frick ups, equipment frick up
finally just cancelled cable and only have internet now and even that gives me trouble all the time and they constantly try to sneak up the price and i have to call them and set them straight

think cellphone 'voice minutes' overages 5 years ago. att/verizen/tmobile/sprint could provide better tools for you to monitor this but chose not to.
it was the equivalent of their blockbuster 'overdue movie fees' model.
smartphones *FORCED* the issue because the phones finally became intelligent enough that someone could (and did!) write an app to do this yourself if your provider chose not to.
suddenly all the major players were like 'oh here's our shitty little branded app to monitor usage'.
comcast needs a swift kick in the butt.
eta look where blockbuster and cellphone providers are now.
comcast and att lobbyists cozying up to congress put us in the shithole we're in now for broadband.

I know we are a huge country, but our broadband is pathetic. We need more competition in that market.

This is why there is a data cap.. They are trying to strangle the market. Force you to buy their TV package. It's pretty much ATT and Comcast with a few smaller guys like Cox struggling to come in with the same bullshite.

1. my bitch against amazon is how their reviews doint accurately reflect the quality of the product even though they have enough information in their system to flag that product or move it out of 'top product' status.
2. my bitch against comcast is they are now limiting your data usage, not giving you a way to track how much you use, and have said "No, sorry..you cant pay us enough to not have a data cap"
