His 30 rock writing is by far my favorite thing he has done. Didn’t care too much for him in Community and never dug Atlanta outside a couple of eps. His music isn’t my jam.

That being said he is a very very talented dude

Did you steal that from his stand-up?

He’s up there. These fools in this thread decry his talent, but their bias is telling ;)

tlanta is far from a “middling” show.
i've never heard of it. i looked it up and its rating suggest its less than "middling".

it's clearly very weak if we're having the "most talented artist right now" conversation.

What the frick. What do ratings have to do with quality or talent?

Community is an all time clever and under appreciated show with spectacularly interesting writing. It’s just now appreciated all of a sudden. Atlanta is very good and very critically acclaimed.

2 and a Half Men and Big Bang Theory were the most highly rated shows of their time and no one would ever call them brilliantly written shows to say the least.

1st you said “he’s not very good” now you haven’t seen any of the stuff he’s in. Sounds like your opinion is uninformed

good shows resonate and do better 0.4s

even super niche mad men did about 4x Atlanta's total viewers... and people actually talked about it

People are acting like he’s some no body ghetto rapper or something.

The guy was a writer on 30Rock

He’s a really smart, thoughtful guy with good comic talent. His stand up I wouldn’t say is my favorite but it’s funny.

I don’t like rap at all and hate SJW stuff but I recognize the talent.

You sound interesting. I would love to eat some McDonald’s while watching American Idol at your local Walmart any time.

that's not true. what i've seen, i definitely can't say he's the "most talented". and the fact that i haven't even heard of one of his bigger projects isn't a good sign.

That’s simply not true. Firefly was cancelled after one season.

Terriers only lasted a few episodes and people go back and think it’s one of the best cancelled shows ever.

Rome only lasted what 2 seasons and didn’t do well in its initial run on HBO.

Children of Men, Iron Giant, fight club all bombed or underperformed at the box office.

Timberlake comes to mind. Post Malone is multifaceted as well. Rob Zombie has a decent list of music/movies

But Trent Reznor is the beast till he dies.

and you won't see anyone arguing the creators of these shows are the most talented right now

K. They’ll definitely be talking about Community though, and most likely his rap career.

He’s a high level stand up, writer, actor and now rapper. He actually makes music not just spout gibberish over a sample.

He’s a really really talented guy and still young. He’s also extremely like able.

You’re moving the goalposts now.

What have you seen him in?

Also a lot of people would say Joss Whedon and John Milius are pretty talented and successful.
