Why? Those are the standards that you're imposing, which are completely arbitrary.

You aren't following. They aren't arbitrary at all to what I first posted. For some people to put so much emphasis on what style of clothing is more important over another is, in the grand scheme, ridiculous. I understand what society dictates and I comform when necessary. Fashion serves no "point" insofar as to appeal to a person's subjective tastes in style.

This can be said about a lot of things. Why single out fashion?

I would argue that it serves a lot of "points."

Agreed, and I do make sacrifices. I'm saying that even though I do make them, the reasons why I have to aren't based on anything all that important in the grand scheme.

Been wearing one daily lately. I look nice.

I'm also bringing the grey suit back in style.

I will only wear a tie to an immediate family members funeral. Corporate America is moving away form ties from what I've seen in my industry. Open collar button down and suit at weddings

And while we're at it, if you're not wearing a tie, at least get some V-neck undershirts. A nice dress shirt without a tie is a good look, but some people ruin it by wearing an undershirt they've had since college. The same goes for Polo shirts. If you absolutely must wear an undershirt, at least get one that doesn't show.
