Is the Lauberge hotel and pool any good

Talking Baton Rouge. Is it nice, sketchy, worth the effort? Or just skip it?

Tried it out 2 years ago and it sucked BUT I later found out we went the weekend before school started and it ended up being a vacation for kids and parents that cant afford to leave the area - OK, those folks deserve to have a good time as well.
Went back the next year (when school was in session) and enjoyed it.

We aren't taking any decent vacations till the fall. Kind of thinking about a weekend place I can take the wife to give her some pool time. Work schedule has her tied up till the fall , but she deserves a break and some down time by a pool.
Was hoping y'all could vouch for this place.

The pool is very small. I would drive an extra 1.5-2 hrs and stay at the hard rock or beau in Biloxi.

Cool atmosphere but when we went the pool is too small and shallow. Water is warm. Also, the pool bar had a small selection and didnt have its shite together. They didnt have limes for the coronas. I went to the stadium club bar and brought a container of limes up top.
All in all, I would go again, but with a little different plan.
Show up at noon (you can usually get a room early or atleast check your bags).
Go to pool for a couple hours and have a few drinks.
Take a break around 230, change clothes and go hit the stadium club for lunch and make a small round in the casino.
Hit the pool back up around 5-6 for a couple of hours before cleaning up for a nice evening meal at the steakhouse and a night at the casino.
All in all, I would go again, but with a little different plan.

Pretty nice. Always clean. The clientele is a lot more upscale than what you'd expect at a Baton Rouge casino.

We were there just this weekend and couldn't get over how small the pool was. Like I've never seen a pool that small in anyone's back yard. It's smaller than a pool at a Holiday Inn. There aren't a whole lot of non-cabana lounge chairs. Plus, we dropped by around 5-6 pm then came back after gambling, drinking and eating and I swear, there were dirty plates of food that hadn't been picked up.
The casino is really nice and the rooms and restaurants are quite good, however.
