More like mobile phones. Lots of internet would be worthless if people had to dial up and sit at a desk

Correct. Information on the internet is so full of people, professionals and fakes, feeding you a steady course of garbage. Having to wade through all of it to find what’s actually true is incredibly exhausting and mind numbing. Most of it centers around deceit to get your money or whatever they can get from you. It’s another good concept that has been totally misused.

It wasn't difficult

There are certainly downsides but the two biggest things I can think of as benefits:
1) Navigation- Younger people do not realize what a huge PITA navigating in an unfamiliar city or state. Having to buy paper maps at the gas station, stopping to make calls at a payphone to get talked in, etc.
2) Shopping for parts-Used to be if you wanted a part for something you had to go to the dealer, get the parts guy to look it up, pay in advance, wait for the part, then make a second trip to pick it up. It was a huge PITA. And the wrong part would show up pretty often.

I would do it yes
When it goes down or better yet the whole power goes out inexplicably there's always a little excitement. "Is this it?" And disappointment when it comes back

When the internet was just a nerd paradise, it was fine. When access opened up and every dumbass could make a "look at me" webpage, then the advertisers came in and wrecked it.
People used to create "content" as a passion. Now they just do it out of sheer greed and narcissism.

Internet is the #1 example of a gift and a curse. The smart phone is #2.
