Baths are disgusting. You stew In your own filth. No one over the age of 6 should be taking a bath as their main form of cleaning.

Years ago-I lived in rural Japan with the Yoshimoto family as a teacher. He is still mayor of the town. Tremendous human beings. They are NEXT LEVEL on baths. Here’s how the traditional country pre- sleep Japanese ritual works. I can feel the downvotes raining down already.
Where you clean and where you soak are different places. First you fill this separate awesome deep tub with water that is as hot as you can stand. Then you take a shower and scrub yourself clean. Then, once you are clean, you sit in the hot water for five minutes or so- no soap allowed. It’s just for soaking. As heating water is expensive and time consuming, everybody gets their nightly turn in the same water. And then you go to bed.
It may sound weird but once you get used to it it feels like the CORRECT way to do it and it also feels like a more advanced and civilized way to do it.
FTR, I have not taken a bath in probably two years.

Nope. They generally shower and then soak.
Now onsens- or hot springs - are generally nude and for everyone. The area of Japan I lived in is THE Onsen capitol of Japan. Beautiful hot springs everywhere. Nude Japanese girls everywhere. You should go. They are curious about the penis size of white people. You’d like it.

I sat in an onsen a few times in Japn with a bunch of other naked dudes. It wasn’t gay at all. Of course we weren’t “bathing” but more just relaxing in a big arse hot tub.

Years ago when I was doing triathlons, half marathons and half ironman’s I would soak in a tub full of ice and water. That shite is so awesome but I don’t miss it at all.

I probably hadn't taken a bath in 20+ years when my shower head cracked a few years ago. I sat in the warm bath for about 10-15 mins while I was bathing and godamn if I didn't feel relaxed as hell for the rest of the night.
