Look at how much money Josh Gordon pissed away. It's obviously strong enough of an addiction.

The people that approved the Pfizer vaccine are the same people that claim marijuana is a Schedule 1 drug.

That’s an extremely sheltered view, and you need to expand your limited thinking. That is not true of most people and weed has nothing to do with the latter. A person’s mental well being in the face of life’s stressors impacts how they change more than anything, not a plant.

Most people I know that at some point smoked weed regularly, myself included, are just normal members of society holding professional positions of various sorts with no issue. It’s in our own time, not on the clock. If and when I find the desire to take a break, I just do it cold turkey with no physical issues as is common in other drugs or alcohol with withdrawal symptoms. It’s only addictive in a psychological sense, which is more the person than the mj.

I think some people just prefer happiness over extra money.

If the government took away alcohol and there was an alcohol test (similar to a dug test) somehow, I'm sure a lot of people would say forget it and go to the jobs that didn't have alcohol testing because they enjoy drinking. Same concept here.

I wonder how many of these "cannabis users" neglect to mention their opiate addiction so they won't lose out on more drugs.

He didn't give up a job to do drugs. He just didn't take a new one.

And his only reason was because they drug test, thus doing drugs is more important to him than taking a better job.

Also, that was the point of the poster I was referring to where he mentions people like pot "to the tune of giving up a job."

You can attempt to hide from it or deny it all you want but it doesn't change the truth of it: turning down a job SOLELY because it would hamper your ability to do drugs is textbook addiction.

Better paying job does not = better job. Your ignorance is showing.

I'd rather flip burgers for 10 bucks an hour than ride on the back of a garbage truck for 12 bucks an hour.

Pot heads have zero ambition, period. I watched a once successful author piss his career away b/c he would rather smoke weed every day, all day. The few I still know sit around and read Mother Jones and act like they are intellectually superior to all walking primates. Now a good toke or edible every now and then is good medicine but pot heads are losers and will never contribute to society.

I try my best to avoid anything with man-made sugars. Sugar isn’t a drug, though, so I really don’t see your point.

Yes. I have a nephew who could have gotten a job as a cook on a river tug but failed the drug test because he couldn't stop smoking it. He has gone from one restaurant job to another. It's like a never ending cycle that he just keeps on doing.

Irony. You call me ignorant yet you're replying to a point I didn't make.

I'll even restate it for you: turning down a job SOLELY because it would hamper your ability to do drugs is textbook addiction.

Now go back and read the OP and the other post I was responding to. In those instances jobs are being turned down ONLY because it interferes with their ability to do drugs, not because of the pay.

When you make life decisions based on no other reason than how it impacts your ability to do a drug, that's addiction no matter how badly you don't want it to be.

I mean it shouldn't be for the perfect/dream job. But if your place of work doesn't let you smoke weed, a weed smoker will see that as the same thing as not allowing you to drink alcohol on your free time. It's a severe hindrance to your personal freedom. I sorta get it for places where it's illegal (even though I disagree with those states), but even in legal states jobs can drug test you and not allow you to smoke. That is extremely stupid imo
