I’ve never really understood the big fuss about paper vs plastic for grocery bags.

I hear, man. One day they'll make us ring up our own groceries and bag them.

Since paper or plastic doesn’t cut the mustard anymore, you should crusade for either rubber or styrofoam.

I bring my own bags when I can remember them. I just find the no handles thing to be utterly ridiculous s d scorn worthy

They aren't so bad, they can be used to line bathroom trash cans, empty cat litter, pick up dog shite, and the toddlers love playing Space Man with them like helmets.

You must shop at a cheap store, the paper bags where we shop have handles.

I’m annoyed because I asked for paper and they put it in three paper bags and I didn’t have a cart to carry them so I had to awkwardly carry these things around looking like a bigger fool than I normally do

I don't care about paper or plastic. Went to an Aldi's for the first time the other day and they only have paper bags, with handles I think, but they charge for them. Luckily we had just bought some totes at another store, so we just used those.
What I don't get is the put a quarter in to release a cart? Is this to convince people to bring the cart back to the front? I usually do that anyways if I park close, otherwise put it in the nearest cart return. I wanted to just leave the cart in the lot then, since I paid the fee to do so. You get the quarter back to bring the cart back, so is that not the fee to just leave it?

It's definitely not going to ruin my day. You? I'm not so sure.

From a climate change perspective both sequester carbon quite well. Plastic might be a little better.

what happened to your cart? You didn't go from carrying individual items in hand to the check out, without struggling to carry the items, to suddenly struggling to carry the same items contained within 3 paper bags...so did you choose to not continue to use the cart?

decided to make paper bags with no handles

I never saw a paper bag with handles from a grocery store back when they even had the option of paper or plastic.
