I'm sure there's a way to change it, get more cops involved with community stuff, let the kids of the neighborhood see their face and whatnot, but that probably isn't going to happen
They've been doing this for quite a while. It all breaks down because poorer people have a bigger struggle to exist. Struggle leads to looking for easy way to make a buck. Easy way to make a buck is illegal activity. All of a sudden they see police snatch up neighbors who they see as struggling to get by blame the police and authorities for making it even harder to exist.
People's moral values change and alter depending on their situation. If you are in a bad financial situation for many generations then there isn't much you wouldn't do to change that and struggle less.

If every person in the country is aware of the city and the city is known across the world as the birthplace of possibly the most important musical form ever created, then it's probably still a major city. Maybe not in practice anymore, but it still has the legacy.

Several food processing factories like the coffee plant.
Forgot about Folgers and Luzianne..
Hell, Folgers moved it headquarters from San Fransico to New Orleans.
A lot of the food processing plants moved after Katrina like Reily Foods, still HQ in NO, and Crystal Preserves, but are now in Elmwood.

They’re worst cities. You could put most in a hat and pull out 20 and then do it again and both list would still be correct. It’s is definitely bottom 20.

No, but the Packers are owned by the people of Green Bay. Only NFL franchise like it.

I don't blame the young bucks for trying to grind and make it, even illegally.
It only bothers me when it hurts innocent people.

Does Green Bay have a second pro franchise? Also their franchise originated when the professional sport was in it's infancy so not as big of a barrier as all teams were starting on the ground floor.

No doubt about it. I don't care for any of it. I mostly don' care about illegal drug sales but that leads into other nefarious activities like theft, murder, human trafficking, etc... Mostly the side effect that bothers me.
Mainly trying to express the point that if anyone else were in those same circumstances it'd be easy to fall into the same traps.
Really the exception to the rule are the immigrant communities who still manage to pull through while committing far less crime (violent) per person

I dunno. I was recently in Seattle and I think that place is worse in its own special way.

San Francisco is getting close

Baltimore, St. Louis, Detroit and the other cities on the shite list are going to stay like they are forever. There is an antagonistic relationship between the poor and police. As long as that is the case, you're never going to get people in the hood or the trailer park to call the cops or give them information when something goes down.
I'm sure there's a way to change it, get more cops involved with community stuff, let the kids of the neighborhood see their face and whatnot, but that probably isn't going to happen. This is just going to be a problem for the foreseeable future
It's a cultural problem, not a police problem.

You think there are limits to what the cartels do or don't do? Kidnapping is their bread & butter. Ransom insurance was/is huge in Central and South America.

Progressive freaks from out of state have ruined that city. Came to NOLA to save us from ourselves and proclaimed themselves Naturally New Orleans because they went to Pat O's and Mardi Gras ..

Unfortunately cops have become the main villains in society in the past 2 years nationwide. Even the Federal government has piled on with consent decrees, which destroy morale and kills recruitment for police departments.
So if you like those law enforcement issues St Louis and New Orleans - that’s going to be every city if this continues.
