No, far from it. Only thing it has going for it is the shipbuilding industry. High crime rates. VA beach is trash for an east coast beach too.

No. Portsmouth is worse though. If you are looking to live around there, Chesapeake and Virginia Beach have nice areas. That was 20 years ago though.

Lived there while my Wife was in Medical school in Norfolk and as long as you stayed out of downtown it's fine....traffic tho sucks bad

frick no, in live in Williamsburg and work in Newport News and Hampton in the ER.. ghetto as hell with one nice area but still dark as shite everywhere.... total shithole
Moving back to LA next year.... not much different than BR though. Segregated geography and classes, lots of racism. If I only lived and worked in Williamsburg it would be fine but almost all of Hampton roads sucks
