Had a black lab growing up named Zulu, best dog ever. Gonna be getting 2 dogs in like a year, want a golden labradoodle and a chocolate labradoodle (allergies) and want to name them Rex and Zulu, for obvious New Orleans reasons. But would naming a chocolate lab Zulu be frowned upon now? We don’t hang out with anyone who would really care one way or another. And if they did that’s just an easy way to remove unwanted friends.

Haven’t seen a dog named Zulu in a while, should I do it?

Why would you name dogs after New Orleans? Do you want them to smell like piss?

That’s what I think, but some people are pussies. If the OT was saying “ehhh might be pushing it” then it’s probbaly not a smart move

No it’s not racist. Not everything is a racial issue. If someone has an issue with the name, tell him to pull the stick out of his arse.

I have always had Rhodesian Ridgebacks and have had Zulu, Shaka, Bantu, Nandi amoung other isiZulu names. I certainly never considered them racists names but there was a different connection.

Name your dog whatever you want to name it, if you aren't doing it for racists reasons then it isn't racist.
