I know plenty of people with longer commute times than that...if you don’t mind it I don’t see a problem with it

I think it depends on the commute.
I commuted between Metairie and Jesuit Bend for awhile and hated it.

But I commuted between Metairie and Thibadoux and actually enjoyed that commute.

Are you taking into account all cost?

Gas, insurance, tires, car washes, depreciation, maintenance, brakes....

You'd be surprised how quickly you get above $1.00, especially when depreciation is factored in.

Consider getting a new windshield can add .02 per mile in a lot of cases.
